Flat-bred who showed little in two starts last year for George Scott (both 1m½f). Bought by current connections for £8,000 and whilst he's not bred for this game, there is stamina on both sides of his pedigree.
Tailed off on both Flat starts for Paul Nicholls (both 1m2f) earlier this year. Sold for £5,000 shortly after and hard to envisage the Champion NH Trainer moving him on if there was some potential for this game.
Picked up for €15,000 after four fair efforts in France for Freddie Head. Dam was a Group 3 winner in Germany and there is plenty of stamina in her pedigree to suggest that he can have a future in this sphere.
2m Flat winner in France. Beaten 20L on GB/hurdling debut at Market Rasen in August but built on that when second at Wetherby (2m, good to soft) 11 days ago. Has a chance if improving on that but suspicion is that further will suit.
Placed once from two starts in Ireland, he made his stable/hurdling debut at Chepstow when fourth (2m, soft) 15 days ago. Was keen for the most part before weakening late on but can improve on that if settling better with first time cheekpieces.
Won 2/10 starts on the Flat for Richard Hughes, both on Polytrack (1m/1m4f). Cost 16,000 gns in July and has joined a top trainer who does very well with juvenile hurdlers and has been in good form recently.
1/10 on the Flat with Richard Hughes, he won over 1m4f at Salisbury earlier this year. Still in the same ownership, he is another to have joined a leading yard for his hurdling career and the betting should provide a guide to his chance.
Showed little in five Flat runs, the last four for this yard. Does an interesting pedigree, however, with plenty of relatives on the Flat who stayed well whilst his half-brother, Cracker Factory, who four juvenile hurdles last season for Alan King.
Placed twice in nine Flat starts, the best being when second at Beverley (1m½f, good to soft) in August. Untried beyond 1m2f and pedigree doesn't provide great stamina assurance but has joined a more than capable outfit.
A 16-race maiden on the Flat (5f-1m3½f) and the switch to hurdling was very poor when tailed off, beaten 50L, at Huntingdon (2m, good) recently. Readily overlooked.
Had some ability in four Flat starts last year (7f/1m) for Roger Varian. Plenty of stamina through her dam (2m winner), who is a half-sister to 2m4f Group 1 winner Invermark. Showed more than most on the level and has the potential to do well.
A maiden in 13 Flat races (up to 1m2f) and her hurdling debut at Ludlow (2m, good) recently was not particularly promising after pulling hard and jumping poorly.
Forecasts
Sir Psycho (11/8), Torolight (7/2), Twenty Years On (4/1), Paricolor (9/2), Fleursals (25/1), Alfa Dawn (25/1), Kapitaliste (25/1), Arizona Glory (50/1), William McKinley (66/1), Global Goddess (150/1), Eighteenhundred (150/1), Dandy Belle (150/1)
Torolight and Twenty Years On both won over 1m4f on the Flat and having joined leading trainers, should be able to cope with the transition to hurdles. SIR PSYCHO was well fancied on hurdling debut at Chepstow but his inexperience proved costly and he should have learnt plenty that day. Of the others, Fleursals showed ability on the Flat last year and with her stamina-laden pedigree, is an interesting recruit to this game.
- Sir Psycho
- Fleursals
- Twenty Years On
