Off time: 16:26 | Winning time: 6m 28.30s

Macgiloney²¹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: D G Hogan| T: D Hogan| OR: 137| D

9/1

Won at Cork in May and Bellewstown in July prior to popping up again at Down Royal penultimate start in better company. Better for recent fifth at Gowran Park after a break so should give good account of himself.

Form: 153415

The Butcher Said^h,t¹²³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: Adrian Heskin| T: O Murphy| OR: 136

7/2

Improved 21lb according to official ratings during four-race recent wining spree and there could yet be more to come as he steps up in trip again. In great heart and looks sure to go well.

Form: 62-1111

Ramses De Teillee^t²⁰³

Age: 7| Weight: 10-12| J: T Scudamore| T: D Pipe| OR: 146| D

8/11

Talented staying handicap chaser who was second in last year's Welsh National. Hasn't run over hurdles for two years and competed at a lower level over timber, so will need to translate chase form back to timber if he is to score.

Form: 9/5122P-

Some Chaos²¹⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 10-12| J: Benjamin Poste| T: M Scudamore| OR: 140| D

9/2

Won 4-6 chases last term and improved a total of 32lb, concluding with convincing win in good event at Kelso. Showed little in three hurdles earlier in career so has a bit to prove in this sphere.

Form: 112511-

Noble Glance⁴⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 10-10| J: Matthew Batchelor| T: C Poulton| OR: 111

66/1

33/1 landed three-runner Fontwell novice hurdle in August but only modest fourth in minor Worcester event last time. Appears to have a mountain to climb in this company but should give connections a great day out.

Form: 57/5414

Forecasts

Ramses De Teillee (8/11), The Butcher Said (7/2), Some Chaos (9/2), Macgiloney (9/1), Noble Glance (66/1)

A trappy heat which may just fall to Irish raider MACGILONEY who sohuld be spot on now after a recent pipe-opener where he shaped well. He has most to fear from the progressive The Butcher Said who will make him work hard as he bids for his five-timer. Useful staying handicap chasers Ramses De Teillee and Some Chaos are hard to assess back over smaller obstables, but any notable market support would be interesting as they are both potentially favoured by the weights if running up to their respective chase marks.
