Creditable fourth in an amateur event at Galway in August, and has since scored over hurdles. Bit disappointing in that sphere last time, though, and needs to put his best foot forward to score back on the Flat.
Well held on first two starts at Gowran and Cork at up to 1m1½f, albeit hinting at ability. Unseated this rider after clipping heels last time, and others much more appealing on balance.
Fairly useful form when placed on the Flat and over hurdles, and produced a career-best effort when second of 16 to King Pellinor in a 1½m maiden at Gowran last time. Sets a solid standard at this level.
Soundly beaten in bumpers (best effort on debut) and in two starts on the Flat, showing regressive form. Makes no appeal.
Won a low-grade bumper at Worcester in June on debut before disappointing in two races on the Flat in August and September. Fell on hurdles debut last time, and has a bit to prove at present.
Has shown a fair level of ability in three starts to date, albeit failing to match previous efforts when eighth of 16 to Istoria in a 1m1½f maiden at Gowran last time. Place claims on pick of his form, and may yet do better.
Bred for speed rather than stamina, so disconcerting to see him start out over 2m at Thurles, and looked slow in finishing mid-field. In excellent hands, so may do better, but hard to be confident.
380,000 gns half-brother to Listed winner Sarrochi, much the best of his dam's offspring to date. Represents powerful connections, and much respected for all this represents a late debut.
Well held in a pair of turf maidens. although badly hampered last time, and should do better, particularly with handicaps in mind. Cheekpieces tried now.
Hinted at ability on debut early this month, but failed to do any better last time, and now having her third quick run to qualify for handicaps.
Well held when tried once in cheekpieces, but similar form in three other starts, and place claims based on latest fourth of 16 to King Pellinor in a 1½m maiden at Gowran last time, albeit readily held by runner-up Pienta.
Forecasts
Pienta (6/4), Lake McKenzie (7/4), Born By The Sea (9/2), Tidal Action (7/1), Go West Young Lad (14/1), Broken Ice (25/1), Modred (33/1), Rough Terain (33/1), Dragon's Pass (66/1), Double Jemmy (100/1), Rock On Aidan (100/1)
With Noel Meade's team in such good form, PIENTA is a strong fancy to build on previous promise both on the Flat and over hurdles, although Lake McKenzie needs a market check given pedigree and connections. Tidal Action was behind the selection last time, but has done enough to think she could make the frame, and is respected with her yard in red-hot form.
- Pienta
- Lake McKenzie
- Tidal Action
