Won a 6f maiden at Cork (by ½L from Cara's Company) early this month, and followed up in a 7f minor event at Naas last time, battling back after being headed. Penalty less of a worry than drop in trip now.
Much his best effort when winning a 5f Naas nursery last month, and every chance with a repeat, but three other efforts in similar races do leave something to be desired.
Promise on first two starts, and much improved when ½L second of 14 to Lustown Baba in a 6f maiden at Cork last time . Now 7lb better off, and ought to turn the tables if repeating that form.
Consistent rather than progressive since winning a nursery at Sligo in August, and forgiven latest effort when running from well out of the weights at Naas on Sunday. Holds Not Now Zeb readily on that form.
Limited promise in qualifying runs, but stepped up when ½L third of 8 to Captain Corcoran in a 5f nursery here last time, leading inside last but headed close home. May well do better, although longer trip a slight concern.
Runner-up twice in nurseries, showing improved form when neck second of 19 to The King of Kells at the Curragh last time, faring much the best of those drawn low. Looks well treated on that effort, and shortlisted.
Fair form on all three starts, showing a bit more improvement when second of 13 to Miss Myers in a 6½f maiden at Limerick last time. Consistent, and entitled to build on early promise now handicapping, for all her latest effort has yet to work out.
Matched best of his previous form when fourth of 8 to Not Now Zeb on nursery bow at Naas last time, making late progress. Winner has rather let that form down since, however.
Has shown enough to be competitive from this mark, but disappointed on penultimate start and again below form when 4¼L sixth of 8 to Captain Corcoran in a 5f nursery here. Hood worn last time retained, but others stronger.
Yet to show anything, and now tried in a tongue tie and cheekpieces, but easy enough to swerve.
Showed a bit at Dundalk on her first two starts, but turf form not so good, and she makes limited appeal on balance.
Finished a little closer than previously when fourth at Naas last time, but that came in a weak claimer, and she needs to improve markedly to get competitive on handicap debut.
Forecasts
In From The Cold (7/2), Gold Brocade (7/2), Myrcella (9/2), Lustown Baba (5/1), Not Now Zeb (8/1), Cara's Company (10/1), Enchanted One (12/1), Garsman (12/1), Half Nutz (14/1), Hectopascal (25/1), Almost A Dream (33/1), Eglish (33/1)
MYRCELLA was by far the best of those drawn low at the Curragh on her latest nursery outing, and on that evidence she looks a fair way ahead of the handicapper, so is taken to make amends. Cara's Company was beaten narrowly by Lustown Baba in a maiden at Cork which looks better after the winner followed up at Naas. She can turn the tables with that penalised rival, and looks much the biggest danger to the selection. In From The Cold is back on his proper mark, and this reliable performer has solid place claims.
- Myrcella
- Cara's Company
