Gelded son of Dream Ahead who showed good speed when sixth of 21 to Flaming Moon in a 5f maiden here two weeks ago. Drop to 5f will suit, and he's capable of a fair bit better.

Improved for the drop to 5f at the Curragh late last month when finishing second of nine, and ran well despite finishing only fifth of 13 over 6f there last time, winning the race on unfavoured side of the track. Sure to go well.

25/1
Slade Power half-brother to useful 2-y-o 6f winner Take A Deep Breath and 5f/5½f winner Entertaining Ben from a speedy family. Represents same connections as Earls, and market will help separate the pair.

£140,000 Starspangledbanner colt who improved from debut when third of 21 to Flaming Moon in a 6f maiden here two weeks ago. Should do better yet, and not discounted.

Full-brother to useful 5f-7f winner Human Nature and 5f winner Sunny Kodiac and half-brother to several other winners. Some appeal on pedigree, but yard is struggling for winners of late.

5/1
Slade Power half-brother to 6f winner Louis Leroy and 6f winner Sabrina Fairchild. Didn't shape badly when fifth of 8 to Alligator Alley on his C&D debut in the summer, and is one of three from the yard in this contest, so market will guide.

Son of No Nay Never improved from debut when 3½L third of 15 to Hong Kong in a 5f maiden at Naas on Sunday, and holds claims on that form assuming this doesn't come too soon.

Dam was useful at up to 7f, but this son of Morpheus showed very little on debut at Roscommon last month, and is likely to need more time.

Best effort when fifth in a big-field 6f maiden here on quick ground last month, but he's failed to match that form on softer ground since. Opposable in conditions again.

Son of Gutaifan finished last on debut at Naas last month, but did show some speed before being eased, and isn't without promise. Looks to face a stiff enough task here, however.

By Lethal Force out of a 6f winner, and represents the same stable as Nullifier. Yard does better than most with debutants, so deserves a market check.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: W J Lee| T: P Twomey| OR:  82
4/1
Progressive form in three starts, and sets the standard on latest ¾L third of 9 to Champers Elysees at the Curragh (6f, heavy). Visored for that run, and now tried in blinkers.
Better effort to date when fifth of 9 to Kondratiev Wave in a 5f maiden at the Curragh recently, but was over 7L adrift of Gatwick Kitten there, and not easy to see him reversing the form.

Forecasts

Nullifier (2/1), Xian Express (4/1), King Of Stars (5/1), Linus Larrabee (5/1), Gatwick Kitten (10/1), Whoareyouanyway (12/1), Seven Worlds (20/1), Hazard (25/1), Earls (25/1), Smart Project (33/1), Kodiac Prince (50/1), Blue Umbrella (80/1), Phantasus (100/1)

Verdict

XIAN EXPRESS ran his best race when going down narrowly at the Curragh last time, and as long as he faces the blinkers which are fitted now, he should prove hard to beat. Gatwick Kitten fared best of those on the wrong side at the Curragh on his latest start, and is not underestimate, while the market should indicate which of three from the Eddie Lynam yard, headed by Earls, is expected to fare best.
  1. Xian Express
  2. Gatwick Kitten
  3. Earls
