Completed a 6f hat-trick on quick turf earlier in the year but proved a let down when chasing his fourth consecutive win at Yarmouth last time (already a C&D winner there). Eased in grade but has yet to win on the AW (0-4); merits consideration.

Lightly-raced this year (only returned in August); has already won two from three including a second C&D success last time off 5lb lower. Showed a sharp turn of foot (won with something left); appeals as the sort to progress further even up in grade.

Four-time C&D winner (never won anywhere else); only had four runs since his last C&D win back in March 2018 (slips back down below his last winning mark). Both starts this year far from ideal; slowly-run affair at 5f no use last time, more expected.

Dual sprint winner on turf/AW earlier in the year the latest win over 6f (Polytrack); not won since in three attempts since but has run with credit each time. Can be slow away, may well appreciate this return to 6f; 1lb higher than last win.

5f course winner who got a perfect ride when winning his second race at Chester (6f, soft) in May; not seen for three months after that returning with two runs over 6f in stiff company. Below form last time at Ascot from out the weights; drawn wide.

Not the easiest customer to deal with but showed his best form when winning over C&D early last month when well supported encountering an ideal scenario (held up off strong pace, pounced late). In good form again here last time; clear chance.

Yet to win this year but is in a good spell of form currently finishing second for the third successive start at Ascot last time (did best of those who raced prominently). Remains 3lb above his last winning mark, may just be in the handicappers grip.

Debut 2yo winner over 6f at Nottingham last year but it's been downhill for the most part since while with Mick Channon including over C&D earlier in the year. Ran poorly on his debut for this yard here over 7f; blinkers now on, little appeal.

Defied successive weight rises to rack up a five-timer earlier in the year including a C&D win (all wins under Phil Dennis). Winning run came to an end when last seen at Newmarket in June (ran amiss); may just need this off a career-high mark.

Dual winner over 7f/1m for Andrew Balding earlier in the year, the second win coming in selling company at Leicester; hooded for all wins. Showed very little on his first run for this yard over 1m at Lingfield; hard to envisage him making an impact.

Back from a break and returned to turf last time with headgear worn (off this time) he showed very little and was a long way below form. Yet to show any real spark for this yard (was with Richard Fahey); hard to see him playing a part.

Verdict

One or two in this that could well be of interest throughout the winter not least TOTAL COMMITMENT who still looks relatively unexposed and is to all intents and purposes a fresh horse at this time of year. The form of his last win has already been franked and he should have enough progress in him to once again defeat Revolutionise who was third behind him last time and he’s sure to win again over the winter. Four-time C&D winner Sparkalot has to be respected while protagonists such as Iconic Knight, Yimou and the early season improver Camachess all add to the depth of what is an interesting and competitive contest.
