Frustrating campaign although he never runs a bad race. Fifth off this mark in last two an indication as to where he is handicap-wise so will need first-time blinkers to eek out improvement. Appreciates soft and heavy ground.

Like many he joined this yard and came right back to his best winning first two. Since has struggled however with revised handicap mark so will need blinkers to spark another revival. Ground conditions suit.

Staying on sixth of 10 over 1m3½f here last time his best effort to date on soft ground. Still not certain it is to his liking and stepping back in trip possibly also un-ideal. All that said he has claims in a wide-open contest.

Been in cracking form since the summer and won again last time out, this time over 1m1f at Newmarket on good. Won twice on good to soft in the past but struggled in deeper ground. Extra 1f no issue and one to beat if ground dries.

More like it when just missing out on making the frame at Nottingham (1m2f; heavy) in a slightly higher grade event. Is capable of winning after a quiet spell, but looks to have place claims at best in this competitive event.

Made all when a shock 28-1 winner on the AW at Newcastle last November; lightly raced since, only making his handicap debut in September. Unplaced so far in that sphere after two starts so may need more help from the handicapper.

Won in similar conditions to what are forecast two starts back when winning comfortably at Salisbury (1m2f; soft). Did have excuses last time when last at that same track when suffering trouble in-running midway through the race. Solid claims.

Makes belated seasonal debut after 389-day absence. Some eye-catching pieces of form to his name, and he is unexposed. Could be thrown in off a mark of 80 if fit enough to do himself justice. Market check strongly advised.

7f Epsom two year old winner returned from 13 months off to finish a promising third of five at Nottingham latest. Entitled to some on plenty for the run now so has realistic claims.

Recorded a 2L victory in first time cheekpieces (retained since) in a 1m2f handicap at Beverley (good-to-soft) in May. Gelded subsequently and returned from a break latest when midfield at Wolverhampton. Can come on for that now.

Forecasts

Mr Top Hat (7/2), Regular Income (5/1), Blistering Bob (11/2), Data Protection (13/2), Rajinsky (7/1), Autumn War (8/1), Mostawaa (10/1), Sputnik Planum (12/1), Royal Big Night (14/1), Valence (20/1)

Verdict

Progressive four-year-old DATA PROTECTION has slight ground concerns here but is still the most likely winner of this after such a fine run of form including another win last time out. Royal Big Night could be a big player here second time after the layoff and also unexposed in his first run at three is Rajinsky; market support for him would be very significant.
  1. Data Protection
  2. Royal Big Night
  3. Rajinsky
