Heavy ground loving veteran notched career win number 13 in September at Goodwood over 5f. Competitive since off marks in the 70s so certainly a contender here especially with ideal conditions likely.
30-race maiden run a couple of sound races earlier in the season but yet to fire in two for this yard. Still has far stronger form than the bottom three so ought to be in the mix again for a place.
Went close when fourth at Goodwood in June and second subsequently at Bath. Top-rated here and receives weight from main rival but the fact he's been withdrawn due to heavy ground before is a concern.
A frustrating maiden (0-11); runner-up on five successive starts between May and July - twice a beaten odds-on favourite; that said, a repeat of his July Lingfield second to Quirky Gertie (7f, soft) could feasibly prove good enough.
Three-time winner for Richard Fahey yet to fire in two starts since joining this yard including on the beach at Laytown latest where this trainer does so well. Does handle soft ground well.

In a weak contest PETTOCHSIDE can defy his age and top-weight to land career win number 14 with today's conditions absolutely ideal for John Bridger's veteran. Three-year-old Voltaic may be the biggest danger with conditions not likely to be ideal for top-rated performer Blaine.
