Has not had it easy in novice/maidens so far. Good effort last time at Doncaster (7f, soft). Now gelded and cheekpieces go on. Also up in trip and, as a potential improver, could go close.
Coming along gradually and again ran well when second at Redcar latest (1m, good). Up another 3lb here, so needs to pull out more. Unproven on soft.
Won a Beverley maiden in August (good). Ran well on soft at Nottingham (1m2f) last time out, and not ruled out from this mark.
Got the better of Out Of Breath when winning at Redcar last month (1m, good; now 1lb worse off). Held in a better race at York last time, but possibilities back in this grade, if handling soft.
Going the right way and ran well on nursery debut at Newcastle (7f, AW) last time. 4lb rise for that effort, open to improvement and could be a player if acting on soft.
Made a promising debut at Epsom (7f, good) in July, but has not yet gone on from that. Well held last time out at Ripon (1m, good to soft) and has a bit to prove on this ground. Cheekpieces fitted.
1-10, having scored here (6f, good to firm) in July, when 5lb lower. Ran well in first-time visor at Nottingham latest (1m½f heavy). Needs to pull out more, but not ruled out.
Improved effort when making nursery debut at Carlisle (7f, good to firm) in August; bit of a backward step at Southwell (1m, AW) last time, but still time on his side. Bit to prove on soft.
Has a couple of promising Chepstow runs to his name, but dipped some way below that form at Newmarket last time. Bit to prove from this mark on his nursery debut.
Well beaten in all three runs and impossible to recommend him just yet.
Moderate form so far, but best run came last time (7f, good to soft) in first-time blinkers, when not beaten far. 8lb higher today, but still out of the handicap, so much more needed.
Forecasts
Magna Moralia (5/4), Ambyfaeirvine (5/1), Breguet Boy (7/1), Maximilius (9/1), Guipure (10/1), Genever Dragon (14/1), El Jefe (20/1), Out Of Breath (20/1), Comvida (25/1), Hooroo (28/1), Lawaa (28/1)
Ambyfaeirvine looks a player now back at this track and having proved he handles cut last time, while Guipure looks to be a potential improver having shown up well on her first run in this sphere. However, GENEVER DRAGON now makes his nursery debut from a mark that looks workable and with the potential for improvement now upped in trip. He gets the vote, with Magna Moralia a potential danger.
- Genever Dragon
- Magna Moralia
- Guipure
