Has won on soft, but never over further than 6f. Back to 1lb below his last winning mark, well drawn, and is in reasonable form, but needs to up the ante to notch another win, especially over this trip.
Soft ground scorer who has won from 6f-1m, the most recent at Chester (7½f, good) coming last month, when 3lb lower. Still 2lb below the mark from which he won over C&D 12-months ago, and although below par since, he is not ruled out.
7f soft ground winner at Chester last month, for which he has gone up 5lb. Front pair were almost 4L clear there, and from a good draw he can have a big say again here.
Has struck twice in eight starts for this trainer, including over this trip and also on good to soft. Went close again at Thirsk last time, prompting another 2lb rise, but is unexposed, well drawn, and enters calculations.
Completed a hat-trick last year on good and soft ground from 7f-1m. 2lb lower than the last of those now, having gone nine races without another win since. Not the best of draws, and others preferred.
Soft ground 7f winner at Doncaster last year, when he also scored over C&D. Well handicapped again now after a string of defeats, and from the inside draw it would be no surprise if he came back to form.
Saves his best for Pontefract, where he has been prolific, but he has won at three other venues, although always with 'good' in the going description. Not sure 7f, a wide draw and soft ground is really what he wants.
Handles good to soft, but all three of her wins have come on a sound or fast surface. Last win came over C&D, when 1lb lower, in July, but this is tougher and genuine soft ground is a concern.
6f winner here (good to soft) this time last year, and now 3lb lower. Well held in all previous tries over 7f, two of them here. Others make more appeal.
Won on heavy ground (6f) at Carlisle on debut last year, when she also added a Redcar Listed event. Has been going backwards this term, however, and has dropped 19lb in total. Hard to fancy. Cheekpieces swapped for visor this time.
Five-time winner over 7f-1m, three of them on soft. Now just 2lb higher than when last winning at Ayr in July. Inconsistent since, but big player if on a 'going' day.
AW winner who is 0-8 on turf. Went close over C&D last time (good to firm), for which he is up 1lb. Has gone close on soft before, although well held on his other two attempts on it. More needed, but not ruled out.
Back on his only winning mark (gained on AW). Placed four times from 12 attempts on turf, where his best efforts have been on soft/heavy ground. No surprise to see him get heavily involved.
Scored at Nottingham (5f, good to soft) last year, on his handicap debut. Well held all starts since, but now 2lb lower than that success and returns to this trip (dam won over it) for the first time in 17-months. Interesting.
1-12, his win being on fast ground at Beverley last year. Soft ground a big concern, but handicap mark tumbling and would be interesting if supported.
Forecasts
Captain Jameson (3/1), Zip (11/2), Confrontational (11/2), Right Action (9/1), Airglow (10/1), Parys Mountain (14/1), Self Assessment (14/1), Global Spirit (16/1), Start Time (16/1), Jackpot Royale (20/1), Mr Orange (20/1), Summer Daydream (25/1), Rolladice (40/1), Beryl The Petal (40/1), Wasntexpectingthat (40/1)
Confrontational looks a big player with his handy draw, while the same can be said of both Global Spirit and Right Action. Start Time has claims if putting his best hoof forward, while neither Parys Mountain nor Self Assessment is ruled out. However, a chance is taken on ROLLADICE, who is now back on a handy mark and is interesting now going back up to a trip over which his dam won, for the first time since his novice days.
- Rolladice
- Confrontational
- Right Action
