4-39, including two wins on good to soft. 1lb higher than his most recent success at Pontefract in July. Has gone close here before and also acts on soft. Trainer won this race last year. Interesting from handy enough draw.
6-41, including a couple of good to soft wins (handles soft). 8lb lower than his most recent success, which came 13-months ago. Ran well here a couple of starts ago. Can probably ignore his latest effort (eased when beaten). Not ruled out.
Has won on soft ground over 6f. 4lb higher than his most recent success, which came at Newmarket in August (6f, good). Has run well in better races than this on last two starts. Interesting in this grade with 5lb claimed.
Mudlark who has won 4-20 on turf (all 6f) and also over 7f on AW. Not as good as he once was, and after two wins in June, the handicapper appears to have his measure again.
Another light of former days, but still good enough to win a 0-60 at Redcar (6f, good) last month, when 11lb lower. Acts on soft, but held last time at Nottingham and is 7lb higher here. Bit to prove.
Acts on soft ground, though has not won on slower than good to soft. Dual C&D winner, the more recent coming last month, when 3lb lower. Held five times since then, but not written off back here.
Won a soft ground Leicester maiden (6f) in 2014, but has made the racecourse just six times since, and is back today after another 28-month absence. Watching brief advised.
Prolific winner over 5f-6f and all types of ground. Two of those successes have come in a lower grade this season, but she did go close from today's mark here over 5f (arguably her best trip) last month. More needed at this level.
Has won at Thirsk, but tends to run his better races on stiffer tracks than this. Acts on soft ground and is effective at 5f-6f. Now 10lb lower than his last win, 13-months ago for Les Eyre. Ran well on debut for this trainer and has claims.

Van Gerwen (3/1), Captain Dion (7/2), Kenny The Captain (7/2), Rasheeq (11/2), Magical Effect (8/1), B Fifty Two (9/1), Gin In The Inn (10/1), Case Key (12/1), Economic Crisis (16/1), Star Citizen (40/1)
An interesting contest, with plenty of exposed old favourites involved. Magical Effect is saddled by last year's winning trainer Ruth Carr and arrives with a fair bit going for him, but slight preference is for VAN GERWEN, who is drawn next door and ran well from today's mark on his debut for Paul Midgley last time. Gin In The Inn looks to be a danger, along with Case Key, while B Fifty Two can't be ruled out at this track, and Economic Crisis is not written off.
