De Rasher Counter216
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-12| J: Ben Jones(7)| T: Miss E C Lavelle| OR:  144| C
3/1
Progressive chaser last year, rounded off the year with a C&D win in heavy ground from a 4lb lower mark in March; has the services of excellent 7lb claimer to help with the weight, and with conditions fine, chances if ready to go.
2
Horse silk
Culture De Sivola218
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-8| J: Chester Williams(5)| T: Nick Williams| OR:  140| D
20/1
Useful hurdler, trip and ground both fine and in the main, she's a most consistent sort that runs her race when she gets her ground, which she will do here; goes well after a break too, so one to be interested in today.
3

The Two Amigos244
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-3| J: Matt Griffiths| T: Nicky Martin| OR:  135
9/2
Better known as a chaser these days, progressed nicely throughout last year and was in process of running a nice race in Haydock's National Trial when falling; has a bit of class, might be using this as a warm-up but chances all the same if fit.

Graceful Legendb183
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-12| J: D A Jacob| T: B I Case| OR:  130
25/1
Useful mare on her day, often highly tried but capable in this sort of grade and might even be happier back over hurdles today; this trip probably right at the top end of her stamina range though, and no great record fresh, so passed over today.
5

Pobbles Bay180
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-12| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams| OR:  130| C
16/1
Does nothing but stay and rounded off last year by taking the West Wales National at Ffos Las in April; connections taking advantage of this lower hurdles mark but has to be a question as to whether this will be enough of a test.
6
Horse silk
Final Choicep12(ex 7)
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: Lee Edwards| T: A West| OR:  123| CD
5/1
Underrated handicap hurdler, genuine, tries hard and gained another deserved success here at the last meeting; gets a penalty for his troubles, but is fit, no problem with conditions and must have chances of the follow-up.
7
Horse silk
Mcnamaras Band212
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-10| J: R Johnson| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR:  128
9/2
Came up against the useful Dickie Diver in a novice hurdle at Chepstow in February, ran well and then made no mistake on final start back there the month after; totally unexposed and could easily be better class than this, and has a big chance.
8
Horse silk
Sir Willp,t201
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-9| J: R Patrick(3)| T: Kerry Lee| OR:  127| CD
14/1
Only 3lb higher than last winning mark, some solid efforts last season and won't mind these conditions but yard once again gone very quiet, which has to be of some concern. Others make more appeal.
9
Horse silk
De Vous A Moi626
Age: 11|  Weight: 10-8| J: Danny Cook| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR:  126| C| D
66/1
Last seen winning a chase back in the January of 2018, so absence since then has to be a worry; yard look to be giving theirs pipe-openers in readiness for the season at present, and he's best watched today.

Tea Time Fredp14
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-5| J: Lucy Gardner| T: Mrs S Gardner| OR:  123| D
20/1
Has refound his form with a vengeance this autumn, completing the hat-trick at Fontwell last time out with plenty in the tank; another 8lb to carry in what looks a tougher race the new questions to answer, but ground no issue, and has chances.

Sirobbie110
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-2| J: G Sheehan| T: H Whittington| OR:  120| CD
5/1
Winner of three of his last four starts, so hard to knock what he's achieved, especially with all three of those wins coming here, but may want better ground than this to show his best, and this is a tougher contest. New high mark to deal with too.

Forecasts

De Rasher Counter (3/1), The Two Amigos (9/2), Mcnamaras Band (9/2), Sirobbie (5/1), Final Choice (5/1), Sir Will (14/1), Pobbles Bay (16/1), Culture De Sivola (20/1), Tea Time Fred (20/1), Graceful Legend (25/1), De Vous A Moi (66/1)

Verdict

A few of these are having a pipe-opener before they presumably go back over fences and of those, both De Rasher Counter and The Two Amigos make some appeal. Tea Time Fred has race fitness on his side but will surely find this tougher, and preference is for CULTURE DE SIVOLA, who might be best caught fresh, and this consistent mare can gain another win before the handicapper catches up with her. Mcnamaras Band looks a big danger if ready to go, and Final Choice usually puts his best foot forward around here, and cannot be discounted either.
  1. Culture De Sivola
  2. Mcnamaras Band
  3. Final Choice
