64-rated Flat performer ran with credit on hurdles debut last month in finishing second at Plumpton. That form certainly entitles to him respect and a place looks a bare minimum now.
Good enough to contest Group Two and One races on final two starts in Germany although not quite up to that level. Sixth to top-drawer Fusil Raffles on hurdles bow and subsequently in Supreme Novices Hurdle. Ought to win this easily.
€110,000 3-y-o by Fame And Glory showed promise in both bumpers and finished second at Stratford when last seen in March. Tough ask vs Ecco but should be in the mix for a place,
17-race Flat maiden who has regressed at a rate of knots since leaving the care of Ed Walker (0-7 for James Bennett). Well behind Ban Shoof on hurdles debut at Plumpton.
20-race maiden had numerous trainers on the Flat but none of them could find a level of consistency. Not one to place a great deal of faith in.
This yard usually find the key eventually but Wind Surgery and a gelding operation made no difference latest as he made it two lasts in as many starts over hurdles.
Never a factor in two maiden hurdles at Newton Abbot and this moderate Flat performer is again easy to pass up.
Nicely bred mare a shade disappointing in hurdles bow last March but she ought to do better this winter and shouldn't be a back number in a race lacking strength in depth.
Newcomer by Aussie Rules is a half-sister to a 1m6f Flat/2m hurdle winner. Found a tough spot to start off here.
Forecasts
Ecco (1/4), Fitzroy (4/1), Ban Shoof (11/2), Free (14/1), Princess T (33/1), Mood For Mischief (66/1), Phoenix Lightning (66/1), Shelfield (66/1), Top Beak (100/1)
To say ECCO was pitched in at the deep end last season is an understatement but he acquitted himself well in the Adonis and Supreme Novices and his form looks head and shoulders better than these rivals. Ban Shoof showed at Plumpton that he can win races soon enough so he is the only real danger on paper. Fitzroy looks best of the rest.
