Had been finding winning hard but was rewarded for steady improvement when winning weak Chelmsford handicap at the start of the month. Up 3lb now but has won off higher and merits respect.

11/2
Experienced horse who usually fared better on turf, with last win coming at Bath (5f) in May. Wide draw cost him here last time (5f) and may be ready for the step up to 6f. Claims.

Missed the whole of last season and hasn't threatened to land a blow this year. Latest 10th in 6f Catterick handicap means he has plenty to prove now.

Improved since joining handicap company and registered a career-best when 3L second at Chelmsford (6f) late last month. Eased 1lb for that effort so may be one step ahead of the handicapper.
Well held in handicap company to date and didn't show any sign of that changing when seventh in 5f Southwell handicap in May. Not seen since and opposable on comeback.

Five-race maiden who has shown very little so far, including 5L defeat in 7f Chepstow novice in September. Makes handicap debut but may not be good enough.

Thrice-raced maiden who hasn't really shown encouraging signs and was recently last of five at Wolverhampton (5f) earlier this month. Best watched on handicap debut.
Had shown very little but offered hope last time out when 5L fourth in 5f Wolverhampton novice this month. A bit of work to do on handicap debut but not entirely out of the question.

Rank outsider for each of his starts to date and running poorly for this yard recently. Plenty more required on basis of recent last of four at Lingfield (1m3f) in September.

Ran to her rank outsider status in three starts to date, including 10L last of seven at Chepstow (7f) in September. Looks a tough ask on handicap debut.

Had been inconsistent but put up fine to performance to finish second in a 5f handicap here in early October. Only up 1lb for that effort and holds leading claims.

Forecasts

Aiguillette (11/4), Catapult (3/1), Twilighting (10/3), Wild Flower (4/1), Jaganory (11/2), Miss Gradenko (16/1), Disey's Edge (20/1), Maerchengarten (25/1), Just For The Craic (25/1), Plum Duff (40/1), Carla Koala (66/1), On The Bob (100/1)

Verdict

A weak-looking contest which could see TWIGHTLIGHTING get off the mark at the eighth attempt. The three-year-old posted a career-best when staying on well at this track last time and has been given a chance by the handicapper in the weights for this. Aiguillette has slowly progressed since entering handicap company and is another horse who has been given leniency by the handicapper, while the likes of Catapult and Jaganory have begun to find their feet but have a rise in the weights to contend with.
  1. Twilighting
  2. Aiguillette
  3. Catapult
