Ran his best race last time at Redcar (Listed 2yo Trophy, 6f) showing his continued progress (did plenty of work early to get into contention). Hard to think that he won't win a novice/maiden before the year is out; sets the standard here, hard to be

Yard 0-5 with 2yo debutants this year; 80,000 guineas yearling. Half-brother to 6f winner (including as a 2yo) Compton Lane and 7f winner Cove Beach. Dam 2yo 5f winner, worth a check in the market on debut given his pedigree.

Shown very little in two 6f starts so far and now drops down to the minimum trip for his third start. Hard to think that he won't once again start at a three-figure price, best left alone.

Stepped up on her debut effort (6f) when dropped back to the minimum trip at Pontefract to win a maiden (made all). Proved herself useful under a penalty on much more testing ground at Hamilton last time; still unexposed with a useful pedigree.

Already tried over a variety of trips in three starts at up to 1m but remains with very little solid form. Headgear (hood/blinkers) now fitted but hard to recommend on the basis of her performances so far.

Goodwood seller winner (5f, good/soft) back in June on her last run for David Evans. 0-6 for this yard having been tried at up to 7f; took a step back in the right direction over an extended 5f here last time; still makes little appeal though.

Did no better on her second start than she had on her debut finishing well held on both occasions over 6f. Drops down to 5f for her third start but makes no appeal at all.

Verdict

Hard to classify this as anything other than a weak event and despite his stables weak record with juveniles this year AMARILLO STAR can’t be ignored on the back of his excellent run at Redcar in the Listed 2yo Trophy, form that has already been franked. He’s should be able to hold his main danger Jeanie B who still looks unexposed having had just the three runs but her form gives her plenty to find with the suggestion. Newcomer Raasel unless he’s out of the ordinary appears to be booked for third with the remainder of the field making very little appeal this side of handicaps.
