Useful at this level on his day, stays very well and often bowls along in front. Won't mind a drop of rain and has gone okay fresh before, so could lead this lot a merry dance if getting an easy lead.
Wins in his turn but hard to catch right, and yet to conclusively prove this trip is what he wants, either. Threw the towel in very quickly at Worcester on latest start and can't be entertained after such a display.
Only had the one chase start, that coming at Uttoxeter in May, and although well beaten in the end, it wasn't devoid of promise; unexposed and won't mind rain, but lack of chase experience means he'll have to be foot perfect here.
Has the odd win to his name, and was successful in a point-to-point last year; might have needed recent Hexham outing after some six months off, and could do better here; stays this far and won't mind a bit of rain.
Unlucky loser here on latest start, looking in command when running out through the wing two out; same mark here, so clear chance under conditions that suit, but might well have his own ideas and not one for the mortgage.
Early promise rather fading away, has looked hard work and not really progressing as he should, but at least has half an excuse for latest effort (hampered); plenty to prove after a break.
Had been threatening to win one for a while, so despite the 16-1 price tag, not the biggest surprise she got her head in front last time out at Fontwell; however, overall profile suggests she's no good thing to follow up off 7lb higher.
Capable of popping up and causing the surprise, but only he knows when that will be; stays this far and likely ground fine, but definitely has his own ideas about the game, and disappointed when favourite at Bangor last time. Tough to predict.
Often very well backed for these low-grade chases but rarely delivers, but did at least come good over this C&D last January; still some 6lb higher though and overall profile suggests he'll find one or two too good again.
Was going nowhere quickly until a much better effort at Stratford last time out, ultimately well beaten but front pair much higher rated and on bare figures, gives him chances here, even from out of the handicap; cheekpieces on then now missing.
Successful over C&D last March; retains plenty of enthusiasm for the game at the age of 12 but recent efforts not that encouraging, and hopes pinned on a return to a track he enjoys; races from out of the handicap.
Forecasts
Almost Gold (5/2), Alexander The Grey (9/2), Seaston Spirit (9/2), Arthur's Reuben (7/1), Chill In The Wood (8/1), Shady Glen (9/1), Gold Patrol (18/1), Chase The Wind (20/1), Alf 'n' Dor (20/1), American Craftsman (50/1), The Jugopolist (66/1)
Plenty of these find winning difficult, and guessing who fancies it today is not easy. CHASE THE WIND gets his chance to outclass a field, something he could easily do if allowed to make all, a tactic he has used to good effect in the past. He's gone well after a break before and gets the vote over Chill In The Wood, who comes here in good heart, stays well and the quicker they go up front, the better his chance late. Alexander The Grey was unlucky here last time out but if on his best behaviour, should go close, and for those looking for something at a bigger price, you could do worse than American Craftsman.
