Looked to have improved last season when winning twice running his best race over fences when last seen at Exeter in March. Third on that occasion she runs off a 2lb lower mark here; entitled to progress but looks vulnerable off topweight.
Completed a hat-trick earlier in the year over fences but has struggled off higher marks on her return from a break. Easy to back at Fontwell last time (pulled up) she comes here under a cloud and with questions to answer.
Clearly under the weather when pulled up on her chasing debut and now given the chance to redeem herself. Hurdles form is useful so she deserves another chance in this sphere; fairly weighted on her best form; market may well give some clues.
Gradually regaining her way over fences winning at Newton Abbot (2m5f) in August; ran better than her finishing position would suggest at Exeter last time (hampered at least twice). A repeat of that run (without the mishaps) would see her go close.
Already fared well enough in this sphere despite being given some stiff tasks and prior to this looking a little high in the weights. Her mark has now been eased a touched which means that with her previous form she remains with potential.
Dual hurdles winner who showed that she had some aptitude for this sphere when finishing fourth on her debut at Worcester in September. Went with minimal zest though (looked quirky); first-time cheekpieces now used which may help her travel better.
Returned to winning form at Worcester last month taking a race that looked rather weak on paper over 2m4f (may have benefitted from a change of headgear). Upped 7lb for that escapade; faces stronger opposition plus will the visor work again.
Chasing debut offered something to work on over fences but that was in a weaker contest and she's 6lb out of the weights here. Not written off but would be a surprise to see her beat some of the more progressive sorts in this.
Forecasts
Chequered View (11/4), Field Exhibition (4/1), Belle Empress (5/1), Dinos Benefit (11/2), Peggies Venture (8/1), Really Super (10/1), Stephanie Sunshine (12/1), Kentford Heiress (25/1)
It’s hard to ignore the 17L victory of Chequered View last time although the quality of the opposition has to be questioned and there’s also the possibility that the headgear won’t work as well again; she in the mix but ought to find this tougher. Really Super wasn’t right when running a poor race on her chasing debut and deserves another chance with Belle Empress now given an opportunity that looks easier than the tests she’s been given so far. The market may give some clues as to her being ready for this contest. FIELD EXHIBITION ran a far better race than it looks on paper last time at Exeter and connections try for some quick compensation which they deserve.
- Field Exhibition
- Belle Empress
- Chequered View
