50/1
Has been hurdling and chasing of late and has not raced on the Flat for three years; hard to accurately assess his chances here but has been fairly consistent in the jumping sphere of late.
2
Horse silk
Contrapposto30
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-1| J: Adrian O'Shea(5)| T: Mrs A M O'Shea| OR:  81

Just a maiden win to his name to date and that came back in 2016. Has run well in defeat over several different trips this year but clearly comes with risks attached given his strike-rate.
3
Horse silk
Noble Expressionv51
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-1| J: Darragh O'Keeffe(5)| T: R K Watson| OR:  81| D

Three Flat wins from 15 starts but the Sir Percy gelding is still looking for his breakthrough success in six starts on turf; disappointing once again last time out at Killarney; hard to get excited about.
4

Age: 6|  Weight: 9-13| J: Ronan Whelan| T: M Halford| OR:  79

Ran some fair races in spring before going off the boil by July; returns here fresh and may just needs this before getting back into the groove.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-6| J: A J Slattery(5)| T: G P Cromwell| OR:  72

A couple of fair efforts over hurdles followed a decent performance over 1m4f at the Galway festival in August; one to note and could be of particular interest if the money is down.

Horse silk
Vitudurumh4
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-1| J: Gary Carroll| T: J G Murphy| OR:  67
8/1
Sole win on turf came in a Listowel maiden over 1m4f on his racecourse debut over 12 months ago; decent recent effort at Thurles four days ago and interesting he is turned out again so quickly; interesting contender.
8
Horse silk
Smart Living84
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-0| J: K J Manning| T: J S Bolger| OR:  66
25/1
Lightly-raced colt who has put in a few decent performances in his short career notably at Down Royal on his second start; open to plenty of improvement and difficult to assess at present.
9
Horse silk
Universal Focusb16
Age: 6|  Weight: 8-13| J: W J Lee| T: R O'Sullivan| OR:  65
16/1
Very conssitent and likable gelding who put in one of his better performances over this trip on his penultimate start at Navan; a repeat of that would very much put him in the firing line.
10
Horse silk
Pasleyt18
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-12| J: D O'Brien| T: J P O'Brien| OR:  71| BF
7/4
Great effort last time out at this track over and extended nine furlongs; interesting to see how he copes with the step up in trip but holds every chance if handles it.
11
Horse silk
Molly Kaye27
Age: 6|  Weight: 8-11| J: N G McCullagh| T: S M Duffy| OR:  63
20/1
Failed to land a hat-trick at Galway following good wins at Tramore and Ballinrobe earlier in the summer; trip and ground no problem but looks a bit vulnerable at the weights.
12
Horse silk
Harvest Bow4
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-10| J: Colin Keane| T: N Meade| OR:  69| BF| C
11/10
Only caught on the line four days ago at Thurles and if running up to the same level then she could be very hard to beat given the overall level of her form and general toughness.
13
Horse silk
Liars Cornerp,t4
Age: 4|  Weight: 8-10| J: Wayne Lordan| T: J C McConnell| OR:  62
16/1
Has been showing some progressive form of late and will handle the ground should it turn heavy; much to like about his recent attitude and one for the shortlist.

Forecasts

Harvest Bow (11/10), Pasley (7/4), Royal Aide (7/2), Vitudurum (8/1), Liars Corner (16/1), Universal Focus (16/1), Molly Kaye (20/1), Tirmizi (25/1), Smart Living (25/1), Contrapposto (25/1), Father Ailbe (28/1), Noble Expression (28/1), Monotype (50/1)

Verdict

HARVEST BOW has been going from strength to strength of late and he is taken to get back to winning ways having only been caught close home last time out at Thurles. Another consistent type is Liars Corner and the gelding can take advantage of any chinks in the selection's armour given his liking for bottomless ground and his decent recent form. Vitudurum is another to consider and if running to the best of the form he should last year then he is a very interesting contender.
  1. Harvest Bow
  2. Liars Corner
  3. Vitudurum
