Very smart hurdler; head and shoulders above these rivals on official ratings over the smaller obstacles and looks the obvious choice if translating that form over fences.
Improved on debut chase effort (made too many mistakes) at Killarney when running a good race at Listowel last month; entitled to improve again and can take advantage if the likely favourite fails to run his race.
Reasonable effort on chase debut at Gowran Park last March; had been a useful hurdler who loves soft ground; plenty to find on official figures.
Well beaten on all his three chase starts including trailing in over 80 lengths behind the winner last week at Galway; not hard to overlook.

CRACKING SMART should be too good for his rivals here if able to translate his superior hurdles form to fences. Eclat Des Mottes is slowly getting the hang of things over the larger obstacles and if improving again he should run a fair race. Minella Fair needs to find plenty but may become interesting should the ground become testing as he loves a real slog. Champagne Classic ran on Saturday but should he line up in this event then he certainly needs to be in consideration given his hurdling ability and reasonable chase experience to date.
