- Cotswold Stone Supplies Ltd Silver Trophy Handicap Hurdle (Grade 3) (Class 1)
- 2m 3f 100y, Soft (Heavy in places on the back straight)
- 16 Runners
- Surface: Turf
Soft-ground win at Uttoxeter over 2m4f in January his first since reverting back to hurdling. Doesn't have big miles on the clock for his age but stiff enough ask conceding a stone and more to these rivals.
Completed excellent novice hurdling campaign with 10L Listed Cheltenham success in April having run well at the Festival a month earlier. Tougher stuff on return in open company but could be more to come.
25-1 winner of this race last year, rated 3lb higher for defence. Fair second at Cartmel in August on chasing introduction. Others perhaps better placed for this.
Sent off favourite for Persian War Novices' Hurdle at this meeting a year ago, falling early on, before winning 2m5f good-ground Cheltenham Grade 2 in November. Stalled progress afterwards. Capable of going well fresh.
Won 3-5 over timber last term, including at Newbury in Class 2 handicap off 131 when last spotted in March. There should be more to come this season and market likely good guide to expectations on return.
Maiden/novice hurdle winner in January from three outings after joining this top yard, given time off since and clearly should have more to come for champion trainer this season.
Heavy-ground winner at Ffos Las (2m) in November last on hurdles bow, disappointed next time at Exeter but good effort at Newbury in February (2m4½f, good to soft) when second. Leaves behind novice company now.
2-2 in novice hurdles last season, though form of his Newcastle success (2m4½f, good to soft) in February took a couple of knocks afterwards. Needs to step up on return but should be capable of plenty more.
Soft-ground Taunton winner in February over this sort of trip, though subsequent Uttoxeter second (heavy) suggests he may need further improvement in this field.
Useful novice form last term with two wins in six attempts, at home on good/soft going and former point-to-point winner looks sure to appreciate increased focus on stamina now returning for in-form yard.
Listed winner at Sandown in December last over 2m on heavy ground, set some stiff tasks in the spring and again last month on return at Auteuil. 3-36 over timber and vulnerable in this field.
Four-race maiden hurdler, came closes over 2m (heavy) at Sandown in February before being pulled up in the Supreme at Cheltenham. No shock to find him improved this season and trainer/jockey combe much-respected.
Down the field in this last year from 3lb higher mark and mixed back of efforts thereafter over fencing, winning 1-6. This trip unlikely to prove sufficient stamina test.
2m maiden hurdle winner at Lingfield in February and ended last term with runner-up effort over C&D (good) in April. More on his plate after the break.
Showed liking for this game after transferring to Neil King last term, winning at Newbury in March when upped to this sort of trip first time (good to soft) in juvenile handicap hurdle. Capable of further progress this season.
Made winning start in Lingfield novice over 2m (good to soft) in November, showed some fair form in the spring over this sort of trip and is another with scope for better as second-season jumper.
