Lightly-raced maiden on the Flat for Mark Johnston, went close on AW at Kempton on stable bow before making winning hurdles debut at Huntingdon (2m, good; 9-1) just 10 days ago. Definite scope for better under penalty.

Scored over hurdles at the third attempt at Newton Abbot over 2m1f last month in a handicap off 105. Good effort back in juvenile company at Market Rasen since (1½L third of eight) and entitled to run well again here.

Frankel gelding, cost £23,000 as a three-year-old, half-brother to seven winners, including useful hurdler/Flat winner Low Sun. Market check advised first time out.

Eight-race Flat maiden (58-rated); was having first start after a wind op when third on hurdles bow at Plumpton (2m, good to firm; 9-2) last month, staying on after being outpaced and looking like he should improve for that effort.

Flat winner over 1m at Bath (good) in June. Running well over a variety of trips in that sphere since but is probably best watched on jumping debut unless market vibes are positive.

Zoffany gelding, shaped nicely on second and final Flat start for Eddie Harty in Ireland when close third of 17 in 1m2f Leopardstown maiden in the spring. Now in the care of Britain's champion jumps trainer and looks a sure-fire improver jumping.
Champs Elysees filly, of little account in her three starts on the Flat to date and would rate a shock winner if making her hurdling debut a successful one.

Forecasts

Sir Psycho (11/8), Nordano (5/2), Repetitio (4/1), Catch The Cuban (9/1), Arctic Snow (10/1), Magic Shuffle (33/1), George Ridsdale (33/1), Soft Summer Rain (50/1)

Verdict

Previous winners Nordano and Repetitio set the standard but both could find it tough shipping 6lb to SIR PSYCHO, who debuts here for Paul Nicholls over timber having shown clear promise on the level in Ireland already. Catch The Cuban showed more last month at Plumpton after a wind operation and could improve again.
