Point-to-point winner last December and following a below par run in an Irish bumper, he made all over this C&D on hurdling debut for new connections. Sets a clear standard despite a penalty.
42,000gns yearling who proved to be a flop for Ralph Beckett (0-2) in 2016; no sign whatsoever of an upturn in fortunes since joining current connections. Easy to overlook.

Very poor form in bumpers and a trio of novice hurdles so far and hard to fancy on evidence to date.
No sign of ability at huge prices in bumpers, Flat and hurdles and impossible to make a positive case for.

Well beaten in three bumpers last year and then on hurdling debut when jumping left. Hard to make a strong case for following lengthy layoff but there's a lack of depth so support should be noted.

Moderate form in a couple of bumpers but ran well for a long way over C&D on hurdling debut before weakening from two out. Plenty to find with Lucky Flight from that but no surprise to see some improvement.
Well beaten in two point-to-points and on stable and bumper debut last month. Hard to make a case for on hurdles debut.

First time hood applied for hurdles debut following too poor bumper efforts back at the turn of the year. Easy to look elsewhere following an absence.
Pulled up in two Point-to-points and tailed off in the other but shaped far better on hurdling debut when weakening from two out on heavy ground last month. The better ground may see him involved for place money.
Represents a powerful owner and was sent off odds on favourite on bumper debut last year when too green. Very disappointing on hurdles debut back in May and first run since. Market should be informative.

Forecasts

Lucky Flight (1/3), Wilhelm Vonvenster (7/2), Kingrullah (10/1), Walkin In The Rain (10/1), Getaway Gerry (20/1), My Son John (40/1), Ardglass Star (40/1), Last King Of Wales (50/1), Abouttimeyoutoldme (66/1), Fast And Friendly (100/1)

Verdict

LUCKY FLIGHT kept on strongly to make all on hurdles debut, showing a good attitude and a similar performance would make him hard to beat. Kingrullah shaped with some promise behind him and holds place potential. Walkin In The Rain also caught the eye on his first run over hurdles and that form should not be dismissed in this company. Wilhelm Vonvenster is the potential dark horse but is already proving costly to follow.
  1. Lucky Flight
  2. Walkin In The Rain
  3. Kingrullah
