C&D winner on heavy in 2017, and added two further wins last year (both 2m4f). 7lb higher than his last success, but should be very competitive from this mark.

Ever So Muchp16
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-7| J: R P McLernon| T: B Haslam| OR:  100| CD
10/1
Has won on good to soft, but most of his success has been on a sound surface, so these conditions have to be a concern. 3lb higher than when scoring at Sedgefield two starts back (2m5f). Claims if handling conditions.

Reverse The Chargep32
Age: 12|  Weight: 11-0| J: Sam Coltherd(3)| T: Mrs J Walton| OR:  93| CD
20/1
Triple course winner, once over C&D , though all on good. Last success came in May, when 9lb lower. Should be better for last month's run, which came after a break. Not written off, but conditions are a concern.

Lost his way in Ireland. Showed a bit more on debut for this stable at Market Rasen in August, but well held here over hurdles last time. Others make greater appeal.

9/4
3lb lower than when taking a Market Rasen novices' handicap chase last year (2m5½f, good to soft). Has touched that level of form a few times since without winning, but handicapper giving him a chance now after a couple of moderate efforts.

Brother Scott16
Age: 12|  Weight: 10-0| J: Sean Quinlan| T: B Butterworth| OR:  79| CD

4-63 career record. Handles cut and this is his sort of trip, but has not won in 16 starts since joining this trainer, and needs a lot of improvement on what we have seen in 2019.

Ripstick32
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-0| J: C O'Farrell| T: J Walton| OR:  77| D
7/2
Dual point winner, but 0-9 under rules and although his latest run here was a step in the right direction, he makes little appeal as a winner of this.

Forecasts

Bocasien Desbois (9/4), Orioninverness (7/2), Ripstick (7/2), Benarty Hill (11/2), Brother Scott (10/1), Ever So Much (10/1), Reverse The Charge (20/1)

Verdict

Moderate fayre, where much will depend on who handles these conditions the best. Ever So Much is a case in point, as his form is good enough to give him a chance here, if he handles the ground. Orioninverness will handle it and could go close despite topweight, while course specialist Reverse The Charge has a squeak, but again conditions are a concern. However, it could be worth chancing BOCASIEN DESBOIS, who has been given a chance by the assessor and handles some cut.
  1. Bocasien Desbois
  2. Orioninverness
  3. Ever So Much
