Runner-up on three previous occasions, latterly when having no answers to the challenge of the Alan King-trained Trueshan (beaten 2¾L) at Ffos Las (1m4f, good); the principal threat to King Power?
Is becoming frustrating, with a body of evidence to suggest that he doesn't find too much in the heat of a battle (wears blinkers for the second time); clear second best to Ballylemon in a weak Pontefract maiden (1m4f, good to firm) a fortnight ago.
Went down fighting to the promising Dubai Future at Windsor (1m2f, good to firm) in July, so it's disappointing that he's still seeking a breakthrough success three starts later; perhaps the application of cheekpieces will help him to settle better.
Left the care of Archie Watson between first start and second; well beaten fourth of 11 (almost 15L) on return from a six-month absence at Salisbury (1m2f, good) three weeks ago; a significant improvement is required; unlikely contender.
Frankel filly (cost an eye-watering 2.5m gns as a yearling); placed in the Lingfield Oaks Trial (1m3½f, soft) in May before tackling a Group 2 contest in Italy; beaten (last of three) at odds of 4-9f in a Chelmsford fillies' novice five weeks ago.
Forecasts
Caravan Of Hope (5/6), King Power (3/1), Pianissimo (11/2), Two Bids (7/1), Its Nice Tobe Nice (50/1)
The majority have questions to answer. Two Bids generally refuses to settle, and that is hindering his progress while the frustrating Pianissimo possesses a questionable temperament. Therefore, with Its Nice Tobe Nice unlikely to be overly competitive, this race could prove to be a match between Caravan Of Hope and the top-rated Frankel filly KING POWER who cost an eye-watering 2.5 million guineas as a yearling (and notably carries the name of the King Power Racing Co). A race of this nature ought to be there for the taking for her, and it's probable that a lack of stamina was simply her achilles heel at Chelmsford (1m5½f) five weeks ago.
- King Power
- Caravan Of Hope
- Pianissimo
