Despite the suspicion being that he's a fraction high in the weights, California Soul is worth keeping an eye upon with the Rose Dobbin stable emerging from a spell in the doldrums. However, in a modest contest the safest advice is to stick with the veteran SNOWED IN. Barbara Butterworth's charge was always towards the fore when a pleasing second to The Herds Garden at Kelso (2m2f) last month.
