Previous C&D winner, hasn't been hitting the high notes recently but is returning to this venue from what is a very workable mark now if finding form.

Rewarded for consistency when taking a Catterick handicap (7f, good to firm) 10 days ago from 3lb lower mark. Should give another solid account in this contest.

Previous C&D winner, on a workable mark now and comes here after pleasing third at Hamilton (6f, good to soft) eight days ago. Worth considering.

Capable sort, perhaps did too much early doors over a mile at Bellewstown in August when last sighted. Drops in distance and may finish race off better now.

Winner at Musselburgh over a mile in July on quick ground and has been very consistent since. Not certain the drop to 7f is a positive but should run his race.

Maiden of 10 starts now, too keen early over a mile here last time out in a first-time hood (retained) but can get involved if learning from that experience.

Long-standing maiden, went very close over 6f (soft) here in July and has also shown form over C&D. Poor run last time but may bounce back and will be in the mix if doing so.

6f winner here in July 2018 but out of luck since. Unconvincing profile but has run well over C&D in the past at this sort of level. Others are more likely, however.

Multiple C&D scorer, though hasn't won anywhere since 2017. Has finished fifth in last two starts at this venue and left with something to work on as a result.

Yet to trouble the judge in 11 starts, five of them coming at this track. Has shaped well on occasions but was crying enough at half way last time out over 7f at Musselburgh.

Unplaced in here seven starts on the Flat (and one over hurdles), it would be hard to forecast that changing here. Has it all to prove.

14-race maiden; hasn't kicked on positively since finishing close third in a 5f seller at Newcastle in February (for Karl Burke); drops in distance and plenty to find.

Forecasts

The Big House (9/4), Be Bold (9/2), Forever A Lady (11/2), Dark Magic (7/1), Cardaw Lily (17/2), Explain (17/2), God Of Dreams (11/1), Stamp Of Authority (12/1), Jessie Allan (20/1), Dark Crystal (20/1), Bareed (22/1), Harperelle (28/1), Pinkie Pie (50/1)

Verdict

Last-time-out Catterick scorer The Big House should remain competitive off a 3lb higher mark in this while Be Bold has put together a consistent run of form and went well here in August, though this trip is possibly shorter than ideal. Plenty of these have form around here, with Explain on a nice mark if finding his best but FOREVER A LADY earns the nod. She won over 6f here in July, handles soft ground and is now rated a pound lower than when scoring earlier in the campaign here.
