Won first three for this yard but losing streak since adding up and now stands at eight. Set some stiff tasks this term in his defence and could improve for latest run which came after a break.
Consistent sort this year (already clocked up four wins, last two in handicaps); best performance coming at Yarmouth in June over 1m off a 3lb lower mark. Kept busy since, hasn't run badly but more required here, others appeal more.
Gained a first win for the season at Sandown last time out over 1m2f having run well in defeat on a number of starts. Behind Torcello at Newbury two starts before but now 10lb better off with that rival and reversal likely.
Showed liking for soft ground when winning at Newbury most recently and he had Torcello behind that day. Upped 4lb for the score but can't be ruled out on this, his favoured sort of surface.
Winless at three but seemed to have found some consistency until probably not quite lasting 1m5f at Ayr latest. Back to more suitable distance here but soft ground would be concerning.
Last Year's Winner
Exec Chef (7/4), Alnadir (5/2), Zzoro (11/4), Lawn Ranger (7/2), Torcello (9/2), Oasis Prince (11/2), Mordred (11/2)
