Scored on soft (1m2f) at Doncaster last year, when over 3L clear of Frontispiece (who is now 9lb better off). Up 2lb going into this, despite not winning this season, and for all he should be competitive, that rise is not going to help.

Has won on soft ground, and has slipped 2lb to a very competitive mark here. Has a below par Chester run to overcome, but otherwise he looks a serious contender in conditions that he handles. Cheekpieces go on.

Scored over this trip at Doncaster (good) in April, on his handicap debut, when 8lb lower. Eclipsed that effort when runner-up at Ripon in July. Not fully exposed, and can't rule him out despite below par run last time.
