Manigordo14

9/2
Has improved greatly despite not winning a race this season and ran a career-best when close fourth in valuable sales race at Doncaster (6f) earlier this month. A bit more needed at this level however and looks to be trainer's second string.

Monoski11

10/1
Has been running modestly in higher company this season and looked flattered when well-beaten fourth behind Pinatubo in the National Stakes last time. Each-way claims but lacks to progression of some rivals.

Oh Purple Reign19
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: Tom Marquand| T: R Hannon| OR:  102
6/1
Consistent sort who is already a winner over 6f and arguably improved again when 1L second in Group 3 Sirenia Stakes at Kempton on latest start. More progression is required though and vulnerable to less-exposed sorts.

Persuasion36
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: James Doyle| T: C Hills| BF| D
6/1
Regally-bred sort who won well on debut at Goodwood (7f) before failing to fire in the Acomb Stakes at York (7f) in August. That race may have come too soon and holds a lofty reputation.

Ropey Guest19
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: T P Queally| T: G G Margarson| OR:  98| BF
20/1
Has some useful form in the book in elite juvenile contests this year but didn't take advantage of drop in class at Ascot (7f) last time. Looks to be a frustrating sort.

Wichita13
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: R L Moore| T: A P O'Brien| D
10/11
Well-bred colt who defied inexperience on debut at the Curragh (7f) before taking the eye when second in the 7f Flying Scotsman Stakes at Doncaster. Likely to have more improvement in him. Leading player.

Forecasts

Wichita (10/11), Lord Of The Lodge (2/1), Manigordo (9/2), Persuasion (6/1), Oh Purple Reign (6/1), Monoski (10/1), Ropey Guest (20/1)

Verdict

WICHITA ran on well at Doncaster last time and should be expected to go well over further in time. The emphasis on stamina at this track should suit him better than other rivals and could be an outsider Guineas horse in the future. Lord Of The Lodge sets the form standard given his strong group form already but has possessed speed in each of his races to date. Oh Purple Reign and Ropey Guest look to be the most exposed but have shown a tendency to outperform their odds in pattern company.
  1. Wichita
