C&D winner has been successful seven times most recently over an extended 1m2f at York (soft) in October last year. Lightly-raced this campaign and races off a mark 3lb lower than for that York victory.
Returning from a break when finishing 3L third in a handicap over an extended 1m2f at York (good) earlier this month. Races off the same mark here and is one for the shortlist in this contest.
First start since being gelded when finishing 4½L third in a six runner 1m4f handicap at Newmarket (good-to-firm) just over a month ago. Return to this distance looks likely to suit.
Victorious over C&D on good ground at the end of July but struggled off a 10lb higher mark over an extended 1m2f at York (good) last time out however. This looks a weaker contest.
Well beaten tenth in a 7f handicap at Chester (good) earlier this month. Step back up in distance a positive with most recent victory coming over this trip in June last year.
Ran well to finish 4L third in a 1m2f Listed event at Yarmouth (good-to-firm) last week. Effectively 10lb well in following that effort and she is one for the shortlist on her first start in handicaps.
Three time winner this year including twice over this trip at Pontefract on good-to-firm ground in July. Decent fifth in an amateur riders event at Carlisle (1m1f, good-to-soft) early last month and market support would be notable.
Madien winner on good-to-firm ground over this trip at Sandown in June last year. Had just three starts since and has finished well beaten on both outings since joining this stable.
Impressed when winning by 3L in a 1m2f handicap at Doncaster (soft) last month. Below that form in two subsequent starts however and others make more appeal at present.
Returned to form with a 2½L third in a handicap over an extended 1m2f at Chester (good) recently. Interesting to see if he can replicate that latest effort racing from out of the handicap.
Forecasts
Addis Ababa (9/4), Brassica (9/4), Takumi (7/2), Awake My Soul (12/1), Mr Coco Bean (14/1), Delph Crescent (16/1), Top Notch Tonto (16/1), Scottish Summit (25/1), Edgar Allan Poe (50/1), Jamih (80/1)
A repeat of last weeks Listed third should see BRASSICA make a winning handicap debut in this competitive looking handicap event. One of two three-year-old's in the field the filly is due to go up 10lb for that placed effort and she can see off fellow youngster Takumi who should appreciate the return to this trip. Third place can go to Addis Ababa who ran well when placed at York on his most recent start.
- Brassica
- Takumi
- Addis Ababa
