Beat re-opposing Bollin Ted over C&D earlier in the campaign and basically remained consistent since over a variety of trips. 2lb higher than aforementioned win he should again go well in wide-open contest.

Regular in these sort of events a C&D winner this season who hasn't run a bad race at the course in the calendar year. Handicapper knows his ability well but usually makes the frame here.

Poor overall strike-rate and without a win since 2017. Prefers some juice in the ground however so forecast rain is a potential plus point and handicap has been sliding on unfavoured ground.

Off the mark in a weak six-runner Pontefract maiden handicap last time out. That said this isn't a huge amount stronger and with confidence now boosted he merits respect.

Took advantage of sliding handicap mark when successful over this trip at Brighton latest on good to firm. Forecast rain a bigger worry than 1lb rise but potential if it stays away.

Rated 13lb higher on the AW with 11 wins but just one win from 2 starts on turf. Bounced back over C&D latest however when a close third of 13 and off just a 1lb higher mark he ought to make another bold bid.

17-race maiden flopped latest on AW after two seconds on turf. Return to the grass may help but she had disappointed on soft at the start of the campaign.

First past the post but demoted to second at Ripon (1m2f) before making no mistake over 1m½f here last week. Avoids a penalty for that so has a fine chance for the follow up and handles good to soft ground well.

20-race maiden but ran well on stable debut after a layoff when second of seven beaten 2L by Amity Island latest. No obvious reason to turn the tables off the same terms but effort was encouraging.

Bolted up here over 1m as part of a 2017 double but winless since and no threat in last three (two here) so excuses now wearing very thin.

17-race maiden plugged on into third at Ripon when last seen but given that is his lone placed effort of 2019 the odds are that he fails to replicate it.

Amity Island (4/1), Thorntoun Care (11/2), Bollin Ted (6/1), Maldonado (7/1), Dark Devil (8/1), Greengage (8/1), The Rutland Rebel (9/1), Bigbadboy (10/1), Graceful Act (12/1), Elysee Star (14/1), Irregardless (16/1), Outlaw Torn (16/1), Star Ascending (20/1), Barney Bullet (33/1)

Verdict

Having been disqualified for causing interference at Ripon two starts back AMITY ISLAND made no mistake here latest and off the same mark and effective on most ground he looks a safe bet to go close again in an open looking contest. Closely matched duo Thorntoun Care and Bollin Ted regularly go well in such contests and are highly likely to make the frame again.
