Had a busy but successful year with three wins (1m3f-1m6f) and ran as well as ever when beaten ¾L at Doncaster (1m6½f) eight days ago. Has stamina to prove after weakening over 2m½f at York three starts back and also has a career-high mark.
Landed an AW hat-trick during the Winter (1m6f-2m½f) but hasn't been in the same form since. Slowly dropping down the weights as a result and shaped as if a step-up back in trip would suit last time but hard to be enthusiastic given recent efforts.
Much-improved effort six days ago at Ffos Las (2m, good) when bolting up but 7L in first-time cheekpieces under today's rider. Carries a 5lb penalty and cheekpieces replaced with first-time visor but unexposed over marathon trips; very interesting.
Winner of 1m6f maiden at Catterick last year. Stable debut after 11 months off when fourth, beaten 5L, at Goodwood (2m, good to firm) recently. Got a troubled passage that day and is unexposed after just four starts.
Multiple winner with no stamina concerns, she has been good heart in recent weeks, winning on the July Course (2m, good to firm) by 6L before a narrow defeat in three-runner race at Chepstow (2m, good). Career-high mark now but will keep galloping.
Third run in 16 days may have been too much when last seen five months ago but had been in good form prior to that. Placed over this trip on the Flat (2m4f hurdle winner) but his record after a long-absence doesn't inspire confidence.
Both wins over 2m, most recently winning by 4L at Chelmsford (Polytrack) back in June. Well-beaten in all three starts since and, although the yard are in good form, the balance of his form suggests he may fall short.
Typically well-placed to win five races this year (1m6f-2m1½f), including when doing all that was required at Kempton (2m, Polytrack) last time. Receives an 11lb age allowance in this line-up and, given he is still improving, holds strong claims.
Forecasts
Land Of Oz (11/10), Charles Kingsley (7/2), Blue Laureate (4/1), Graceful Lady (11/1), Smart Champion (16/1), Champagne Champ (16/1), Aircraft Carrier (25/1), Jumping Cats (33/1)
Sir Mark Prescott has shrewdly placed LAND OF OZ to win five races this year and the only three-year-old in the field can continue his upward profile with victory in the feature race. Blue Laureate won easily at Ffos Las last Sunday and is well-handicapped if in the same form whilst Graceful Lady is a game, in-form mare who will see out every yard of this trip.
- Land Of Oz
