Showed marked improvement from reappearance run at Ascot (7f; good to soft) when coming off second-best in a photo-finish at Chelmsford (7f; standard) to War Glory last month. Giving the same amount of weight away to that rival again today.

Cannot knock his consistency which has been held well in the main throughout this season. Won the Chelmsford City Cup (beating Documenting (2nd) and Charles Molson (3rd)), and then went awfully close in another hot C&D handicap last week.

C&D winner on penultimate start, and then had almost a year off the track before returning with an encouraging comeback when fourth in hot conditions race at Haydock (7f; soft). Should appreciate return to AW, and could take big step forward.

Never runs a bad race here, and he bounced back from Goodwood (7f; good) disappointment with an agonisingly close third over C&D in the Chelmsford City Cup. Only a nose behind Documenting then, and it should be close again today off same weights.

Scored on only visit to this track at around this time last year. However, he has been slightly hit and miss this season, as was shown by his recent effort at Salisbury (6f; good to firm) where he finished a well-beaten last.

Much more encouraging signs last time out on first run back from a short break when third off a slightly reduced mark in a London Mile Series Qualifier at Kempton (1m; standard to slow). Needs to back that up, but he should play a part if doing so.

Back up in trip after a string of respectable placed efforts over 6f of late. Is now 1lb lower than when third over this C&D last week. Still doesn't seem fully exposed, and would be dangerous to underestimate.

Forecasts

Verdict

The feature race of the afternoon and a quality to contest to boot. Of the three-year-olds on show, Woven looks the pick of them. He has only had one run over 7f in handicaps, and after a string of consistent efforts over shorter the last thrice, should find some improvement as he steps back up in trip. After returning to his very best, including when winning the Chelmsford City Cup, War Glory should produce another bold showing off a 2lb higher mark. However, the selection is MIZAAH who made a striking impression on debut for this stable when returning from an absence over C&D last year, and after a promising return at Haydock recently, can regain the winning thread.
  1. Mizaah
