Winner at Epsom and Goodwood who found the step up in class and his new mark beyond him last time. Faces another task here.
Unbeaten colt who beat a subsequent winner last time. Opening handicap mark looks right judged on what he's achieved but. having had tomorrow's Mill Reef Stakes in his diary, there could be more in the locker.
Shock Newmarket winner on debut who has bumped into useful types on his two starts since. Has been off since June but would have to enter calculations if the market suggests he is ready.
Highly tried since her Lingfield success and drops in grade for her first attempt at this trip. She is related to middle-distance winners and gives the impression that there will be improvement to come now given a stiffer stamina test.
Has improved with each run and showed a good attitude to land an ordinary event at Ascot two weeks ago. Should have little difficulty staying the extra furlong but others look more fairly handicapped.
Landed a gamble at Kempton on nursery debut but the form and speed figures were only ordinary. Has more on his plate here but the jockey booking looks positive.
Form of his Doncaster victory is nothing special but his narrow defeat by Bravo Faisal (winner at Doncaster last week) puts him on a handy mark here. Well-beaten in a sales race last time and stable going through a quiet period.
Little wrong with the form of her Lingfield victory and the effort can be marked higher given she raced furthest away from the favoured stands rail.
Has been comfortably beaten by useful types on his last two starts and now goes handicapping off what appears a fair mark. Showed signs of temperament last time but could be a different proposition after a break.
Best effort came here on his second start and he would be difficult to beat if replicating that effort here. Harder to build a case judged on his three runs since.
Improved for being gelded and the fitting cheekpieces when making all at Kempton on nursery debut. That was a modest class 6 contest, but no doubting he is well-handicapped given he will be racing off a much higher mark next time.
Forecasts
Macho Time (7/2), St Ives (5/1), Cosmic Power (6/1), Dancinginthewoods (7/1), Written Broadcast (17/2), Cheat (10/1), Separate (12/1), Pitchcombe (12/1), Gypsy Whisper (12/1), Dark Kris (14/1), Indian Creak (20/1)
Richard Hannon has won three of the last four runnings of this and saddles, Seperate, Cheat and Written Broadcast who can all be given a chance. Preference is for the former who is likely to improve for the longer trip. Macho Time was entered for the Mill Reef yet steps up to 7f for his handicap debut off a mark which looks fair enough. That Group 2 entry suggests he is a lot better than that and he will have to be checked in the market. Gypsy Whisper was a good winner last time and has been given a chance by the handicapper, but PITCHCOMBE was impressive at Kempton, is 4lb "well-in" on official ratings and has a good claimer on board to assist further.
- Pitchcombe
- Gypsy Whisper
- Macho Time
