Progressive sort. Shed maiden tag with impressive success over extended 5f at Bath in early August when making all and then ran in a very strong Doncaster nursery when not seeing out 7f. Likely contender.

Off the mark on his fourth start when making all at Ayr in an improved performance. On a perfectly attractive mark on handicap debut and an eye-catching jockey booking. Leading hope.

Showed progress to breakthrough at Newbury over this trip but disappointing badly twice since over further. Trip couldn't be used as an excuse and a bit to answer now.

Looked to have regressed before finishing strongly for a first win at Sandown over 5f. Did well off a slow pace and extra furlong should suit. Up 3lb but stable in very good form and likely more to come.

Winner at Brighton in a decent time despite not really handling the track and just a bit below that level in a tight finish over 7f on the AW on handicap debut subsequently. These conditions should suit better and potentially well handicapped.

Four-race maiden but on a decent mark based on his third start at Nottingham. May have been flattered by a slow tempo and a touch below that over this C&D on handicap debut.

Progressed on his third start when fourth over this trip at Windsor. Travelled well and had to wait for a clear run but would still need to find some progress on handicap debut. First time blinkers added.

Son of Dark Angel has gone with promise in each of his last four starts, racing to a consistent level in the process. Others may be more progressive but possibilities once again.

Son of Coach House has shown steady progress in three starts to date and did well last time after being hampered early. On a perfectly reasonable opening mark on handicap debut and only likely to improve.

On a very good mark based on his first two starts but his next two have been most underwhelming. Easy to overlook at present.

Forecasts

Gobi Sunset (5/2), Dark Silver (9/2), Punchbowl Flyer (6/1), Modern British Art (13/2), Kassab (7/1), Order Of St John (7/1), Port Winston (16/1), Fantom Force (22/1), Little Brown Trout (25/1), Outtake (40/1)

Verdict

A really wide-open nursery and it's hard to rule too many out. There's a lot to like about the way Order Of St John has improved with each run and is on a feasibly winning mark on handicap debut. Returning to this ideal distance PUNCHBOWL FLYER is arguably the best handicapped and his Brighton win was a strong performance. Gobi Sunset took a big step forwards last time and for this trainer and jockey rates the most likely danger.
  1. Punchbowl Flyer
  2. Gobi Sunset
  3. Order Of St John
