Experienced gelding who has been unable to add to his tally of wins so far this year. He ran well at this trip at Beverley three starts ago but was last of 15 on his latest outing over that same C&D. Needs to bounce back.
Recorded back-to-back wins over this distance at Hamilton and Carlisle respectively last month. Had just one horse behind her last time at Sandown (7f) in a seven runner field. Back down in trip. Each-way claims.
Has been running consistently well recently without success. He has finished second on his last two starts, with his latest effort coming at Kempton (7f) on the AW where he went down by just a short-head. Leading contender.
Is 0-9 on turf but he has been successful on the AW. He has failed to beat a single rival in his last two outings, including latest in a seven runner field at Catterick (7f). Others makes more of an appeal here.
Has been successful over this C&D twice before, with her latest victory here coming back in June. Her most recent appearance was at Catterick (7f) where she finished seventh of 10. Drops down 1lb in the weights. Has to be respected over this C&D.
Scored at Musselburgh (7f) two starts ago in a 12 runner field by 3¼L. Was not too far away last time when he finished fourth of 14 at that same track but over 1m after going off as the 7/2 joint-favourite. Stepping down in trip. One to consider.
Was successful for the first time on turf back in April at Wetherby over the extended 5f trip. Has been unable to follow that up in two run since then, with her latest effort coming at Carlisle (6f) where she was fourth of 10. Can't be discounted.
A four-time C&D winner here. He is still looking for his first success this year. He ran well at Carlisle (6f) last time when he finished third of 10, beaten 2L. Remains off the same mark. One for the shortlist.
Forecasts
Atletico (10/3), Penny Pot Lane (7/2), Round The Island (4/1), Bedtime Bella (4/1), Echo Of Lightning (7/1), Hic Bibi (9/1), Billy Dylan (25/1), Bugler Bob (33/1)
ATLETICO has been unfortunate not to taste success recently where he has been bang in contention at the finish, but has had to settle for the runner-up spot on his last two starts. He is dropping down in trip slightly here in what looks a great chance for him to go one place better than his latest attempt at Kempton. Round The Island has been successful on four occasions at this C&D so he always has to be respected here. Expect the gelding to go close to another win at this track, while Echo Of Lightning can fill the placings off this latest mark.
- Atletico
- Round The Island
