Four-race maiden whose best result came with 3L sixth over C&D in May. Unable to land a blow on last two starts, including 5f Sligo handicap latest but will find this company easier on first start for new stable.

Off the mark with narrow Fairyhouse success (6f) in July but well beaten in handicap company on last two starts, including 7f Cork handicap last time. Dropped 2lb in the weights though and better suited by this grade.

Has failed to win in four starts but has ran creditably on latest couple of efforts. 3L fifth on debut in this company at Tipperary (7f) last month and given a workable handicap mark for this. Respected.

Has failed to land a blow in two starts to date, most recently when 14L 10th at Leopardstown (6f, good) in August. Much more needed on that evidence even in this company.

Mustajeeb colt who was a cheap purchase at the yearling sales. Dam was unarmed on the track but has produced 7f winner Five Diamonds. Overall pedigree is nothing striking though and best watched on debut.

Took form a to a new level on last start when landing 7f Tipperary maiden claimer at a big price last month. Had reposing rivals in behind her that day and sets the form standard on first start for new yard.

Five race maiden. Ran well at Sligo two starts ago but could reproduce that effort when 11L ninth in 7f Down Royal handicap. Inconsistent but each-way claims if running to her best.

Not factor in two starts to date and beaten 10L in 5f Naas maiden when last seen. Needs vast improvement on previous form. Likely to set the pace.

Has finished down the field in four starts when she has raced and refused to race last time when rearing up in the stalls. Opposable.

Five race maiden but getting better with each start. Latest 4L seventh in Down Royal handicap (7f) suggests headgear worked and blinkers are tried today. Place claims.

Outsider on both starts on the track and failed to land a telling blow in 7f Tipperary claimer won by Be Like The Bird. Others make more appeal.

Holy Roman Emperor filly. price tumbled to only £4,000 at the yearling sales and out of a mare who failed to win on the track. Pedigree offers limited hope and best watched.

Beaten an aggregate 52L in three starts to date, including in weak juvenile maiden at Gowran Park (7f) last time out. Readily opposable.

Forecasts

Vormir (7/4), Urban Boom (7/2), Be Like The Bird (6/1), Joupe (11/1), Dolce Sicily (12/1), Cobb And Co (16/1), Rolling Wave (25/1), Eglish (25/1), Adamaris (25/1), Five Zeros (25/1), Strategic Fortune (33/1), Heel To Toe (33/1), Eloquent Poet (50/1)

Verdict

The form line of a Tipperary claimer is key to this race and there is no reason to suggest why BE LIKE THE BIRD cannot replicate that success in this contest. The filly ran gamely that day when encountering trouble in running and if kept out of trouble in this, she could make a mockery of her opening handicap mark. Vormir looked suited to this company behind the selection in that previous race and is entitled to show some progression again for a powerful trainer/jockey duo while the likes of Urban Boom and Joupe have shown some promise, but will need to step up markedly if they are to land a winning blow.
  1. Be Like The Bird
  2. Vormir
  3. Urban Boom
