Lost the race in the stewards room after 'winning' on turf for the first time in a Ripon seller (1m2f, good) three weeks ago; a positive run from stablemate Phenakite in the previous race would serve to enhance his already leading claims.

19-race maiden; has left the care of Ben Haslam since finishing in mid-division in a Class 5 fillies' handicap at Thirsk (6f, good) in July; will appreciate the ease in grade on debut for Mark Walford, if not necessarily the trip - an extended mile.

No win since taking a 1m½f Class 6 handicap at Nottingham (good to firm) in June 2018; returns to action off a two-month break in a very weak and winnable contest; was placed at Musselburgh (1m) in July.

Desperately poor in the vast majority of her previous starts (0-11) and makes no appeal whatsoever despite the clear and obvious paucity of talented opposition.

Weak at the finish when fourth in a 1m selling handicap at Thirsk (good) in July, so it was no surprise when she failed to stay 1m2f here latest; couldn't be totally dismissed in a weak race, but doesn't appeal as a winner in waiting either.

13-race maiden; hasn't kicked on positively since finishing third in a 5f seller at Newcastle in February (for Karl Burke); has tried headgear (cheekpieces) to no avail, and on balance appears to be regressive.

Has fewer convictions than the majority (0-7) and actually posted a respectable performance (fourth at odds of 66-1) in a 1m Class 6 classified stakes at Chelmsford a fortnight ago; couldn't be guaranteed to back up on turf.

Forecasts

Amity Island (6/4), Elysee Star (5/2), Grey Berry (5/1), Harperelle (15/2), Dominannie (8/1), Foxy Rebel (9/1), Treasured Company (12/1), Opera Kiss (14/1), Lisnamoyle Lady (40/1), Luduamf (66/1)

Verdict

The Ollie Pears and Toby Eley combination have a sporting chance with Phenakite in Division 1 of this very weak and winnable classified stakes, and this looks to be an ideal opportunity for AMITY ISLAND to gain amends for his disqualification in a recent Ripon seller (1m2f). Still a maiden on turf as a result (0-10) he makes considerably more appeal than the remainder, with the likes of Foxy Rebel, Grey Berry and the eased-in-grade stable debutante Elysee Star expected to be among those competing for the minor honours.
