Turned over at odds of 1-8f on his previous visit to Gosforth Park; things have clicked positively since then, and he was beaten by a fast-improving rival (Cantiniere) at Wolverhampton (1m4f) ten days ago; trainer is 11-30 (37%) at Newcastle.

Verdict

An interesting contest which features a handful of promising handicappers. Deal A Dollar flopped on his last visit to Gosforth Park, but things have clicked positively into place since and with his trainer operating a very healthy 37% strike-rate at Newcastle (11-30) must be feared, while the returning Natty Night doesn't have the misfortune of meeting Logician tonight. However, the selection is the progressive course novice winner WISE RULER. He was well supported in the market when scoring with a fair degree of authority here (1m2f) 18 days ago, and on pedigree alone promises to be suited by stepping up in trip for handicap debut.
