Dual point-to-point winner who won took a C&D bumper on his Rules debut but was found out under a penalty over the same C&D last time. May find this test a little too much again with that same penalty anchoring again against some decent opposition.

Achieved very little on his Irish bumper debut for Philip Fenton before making his debut for his current connections. Showed a little more than on his first run over C&D last time but hardly produced a performance that makes him a leading candidate.
Made plenty of appeal on pedigree alone prior to his debut and enhanced his reputation with an encouraging debut at Newton Abbot against a more experienced individual. Entitled to progress given that performance; leading contender.

Well held on his only bumper effort so far last April in testing conditions at Chepstow. Would need to improve appreciably on that performance to take a hand in this; given his yards record in bumpers that looks unlikely.
Newcomer from a yard with a good record in bumpers; dam was a bumper winner. Wouldn't need to be that smart to make a winning debut and one of the more appealing newcomers in the field.

Has an interesting background having been a 120,000 guineas Breeze-Up purchase as a 2yo; not run yet so obviously had some problems. Yard have a fair record in bumpers over the past five seasons, 8-31, worth a look in the market.
Non-runner on several occasions on the Flat for this yard (related to winners on the Flat). Cheekpieces used now he makes a belated debut; likely to need this outing and best watched unless the market says otherwise.

Failed to cut much ice on his one outing so far when well found in the market at Stratford (only beat one home). Struggling a long way from home and hard to justify supporting him on the basis of that one start.

Made very little appeal on her debut when beating just a couple of rivals home at Wincanton at the end of last year (started at 50-1). Reappears after a break having had wind surgery; unlikely to be troubling the principals.

Showed promise in two Irish bumpers prior to being sold for £48,000 to her current connections. Clearly well fancied for her GB/stable debut at Stratford last time (started odds-on), ran a little too freely, she's worth another chance.

€30,000 3yo who makes her bumper debut; trainer 3-6 with his GB bumper debutants (jockey booking catches the eye). Half-sister to top-class hurdler Faugheen; hard to ignore given her connections and background.
Newcomer; half-sister to 3 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Pumbaa, dam ran twice in bumpers. Rare bumper runner for mainly Flat-based yard, pedigree useful, may be able to outrun her odds.

Forecasts

Carys' Commodity (11/4), Isabellas Girl (3/1), Leroy Brown (4/1), Eva's Diva (8/1), Dalkingstown (10/1), Lex Atinia (10/1), Make Haste Slowly (14/1), Just For Fee (33/1), Socks (50/1), Breffniboy (100/1), Auntie Neila (100/1), Flying Away (100/1)

Verdict

Quite an interesting bumper with the standard set by Carys’ Commodity with his debut Newton Abbot second just about the best form on offer with C&D winner Dalkingstown likely to struggle under his penalty once again. Eva’s Diva wasn’t a cheap purchase for the Middleton yard but she’ll need to settle better to make an impact having been far too enthusiastic at Stratford last time. It’s hard to ignore the claims of newcomer ISABELLAS GIRL given her trainer’s record with his GB bumper runners and her taking pedigree. Both Lex Atinia and Leroy Brown are newcomers worth noting for a positive market move.
  1. Isabellas Girl
  2. Carys' Commodity
  3. Leroy Brown
