Only win to his name is a maiden success at Navan but ran a huge race to finish runner-up in the Queen's Vase. Not in the same form in a Newmarket Group 3 next time out but freshened up since and respected in first-time cheekpieces.

Added to her wins in the NH sphere when winning a Galway maiden last time out. Won't mind the slight step up in trip and potentially well-handicapped judged on her Royal Ascot second earlier in the campaign. Yard have a good record in this.

Won twice over similar trips last summer. Remains 4lb above his last winning mark having failed to score over longer trips towards the end of the season. Returning from an absence here and yard probably have stronger claims with their other runner.

Rattled off a hat-trick that included a C&D win in July and probably didn't stay next time out at the Curragh. Only narrowly denied from a wide draw at Gowran last time out but this is tougher again and he'll need to eke out more.

Sole win came here at 1m2f and largely running well in defeat since, including a good third at Royal Ascot. A bit below form at York last time out though and very best efforts have come with cut in the ground.

Maiden winner at Killarney on debut but has failed to make his presence felt at Pattern level either side of a fifth of 13 in handicap company at Royal Ascot. Has a bit to prove from this sort of mark in a race this competitive.

Landed a remarkable hat-trick at this year's Galway Festival in the space of five days, winning his final start with any amount in hand. Handicapper has had his say since but he's in the form of his life and it's possible there's more to come.

Maiden winner here on debut (1m) but hasn't managed to add to that in six starts since, including when turned over at long odds on last time. Doesn't look well treated from this mark and needs improvement for the fitting of first-time blinkers.

Well suited to fast ground and has returned to form with a pair of placed efforts at Sandown in July. Not seen since though and while he's back on his last winning handicap mark, others may prove better treated in a race this competitive.

Won twice at Doncaster for Luca Cumani last year and has looked like a promising prospect over hurdles for his new yard. Interesting runner back in this sphere and any market support is probably worth noting.

Has won three of her five starts and has run well in defeat on her other two starts. 8lb higher now for her Curragh success last time out but should relish this extra furlong and less exposed than most.

Consistent sort but found a 5lb rise too much to cope with at Bellewstown last time. Dropped 2lb but this is tougher and he will need a big career best to defy this mark.

Just a maiden win to his name to date and that came back in 2016. Has run well in defeat over several different trips this year but clearly comes with risks attached given his strike-rate.

Bounced back to form in an apprentice handicap last time out when stepped up to 1m6f for the first time. 5lb higher in a deeper contest though and seems to appreciate some cut in the ground.

Gained a first win since his maiden success at the Galway Festival last year but no match for One Cool Poet in the same race this year when 5¼L third of 14 and he was below form at the Curragh when last seen; probably wants softer ground.

Put up a big effort when runner-up at the Curragh last month when out of the handicap (given a soft lead) and successful over hurdles next time out but out of the weights again here and others make more appeal.

Verdict

A tricky contest with several improvers in the line-up but it might be worth taking a chance on ONE COOL POET who recorded a remarkable hat-trick at the Galway Festival this year. Freshened up with a 42-day break, he may be able to resume progress from his revised handicap mark. Willie Mullins has a fine record in this race and Buildmeupbuttercup appears to be the pick of his pair. Barbados isn't ruled out if the first-time cheekpieces have the desired effect. Kastasa is another that enters calculations.
