Progressive sort in handicaps when trained in Ireland last year but continues well below that level for his current yard. Hardly beaten a rival home in four starts so far (tongue-tie on last two starts); hard to support despite a sliding mark.
Six-time Flat winner who took an age to get off the mark over hurdles finally doing so at Kelso last autumn over 2m (1lb higher mark). Failed to build on that success since (including over C&D); hammered on the Flat in two recent starts.
Some useful Flat form to her name; has become very temperamental in that sphere of late (refused to race last twice). Scored at the second time of asking over hurdles at Southwell (mares' novice, 2m); as to prove she can follow upon handicap debut.
Runner-up in a couple of starts in Ireland at the start of the year over 2m; looked out of sorts since, ran poorly over 2m4f here last time (also over C&D time before). Runners from the yard always respected here, support needed to be of interest.
Won over hurdles and on the Flat since coming to this yard; the winner on the former sphere coming on her stable debut. Pulled up last time on her return to hurdles she may well have needed the run; still nicely weighted, bounce back a possibility.
Consistent sort for Denis Hogan in Ireland during 2017 before completing that year with just one outing for this yard over hurdles at Musselburgh (well held). Now returns having been dropped 10lb; hard to know what to expect.
232 in single-figure novice hurdle fields around here; dropped to 2m last time, left the impression that the drop to this trip wasn't in his favour. Now goes handicapping for the first time; potential improver especially interesting if support comes.
Yet to prove successful over hurdles (0-9) despite running some respectable races (run two reasonable races around here). Failed to look ahead of his mark though in handicaps as he returns to this sphere having run in a novice last time.
His bumper and novice hurdle form has all indicated that he will be better off in handicaps; now gets his chance returning from a wind op. Never on terms in two previous 2m4f starts here; interesting to see if there is some support for him.
Three-time winner this spring when rejuvenated by the Skelton yard but the spark gradually wore off. Sold cheaply in August (£800); well held and showed very little on his stable debut late last month at Sedgefield; plenty to prove.
Consistent mainly over fences last season culminating in a well deserved win over three rivals at Carlisle in April over 2m4f. Not as good over hurdles indicated by his lower mark; more than likely to need this first start for a while.
C&D second in July (attracted support at long odds) was the first real form that she had shown having slipped markedly in the weights. Shaped well enough to finish fourth last time at Bangor to an improving sort; 5lb out of the weights here.

There’s no denying that recent surprise scorer at Southwell Duck Egg Blue is well handicapped but her recent refusal to race on the Flat for the second time means it’s hard to trust her even in this different sphere. Lake Baikal is the obvious improver in the race on his handicap debut although this 2m trip may be a little on the short side. In a race where there may be one or two lurking in the weights the two Iain Jardine runners Camile and LASTOFTHECOSMICS take the eye. The former may well be capable of better having shown some decent hurdles form already while the latter has returns from a wind op with handicapping likely to draw out more from him on his return.
