Gained a first win since a Ripon novice event at Newmarket in July but has found life tougher from his revised mark since. Probably wants a bit of cut in the ground and opposable from top-weight.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-5| J: R Kingscote| T: Tom Dascombe| OR:  91| CD

Won twice as a juvenile including a C&D success but has been beaten a long way in two starts this season having had wind surgery in the off-season. A drop back to sprinting could help but has a bit to prove at present.

Improved from his juvenile campaign to win a couple of handicaps so far this campaign and put up a big effort when third of 19 over 5f here last time out. Step back up in trip sure to suit and represents a yard flying at present.

Won his first two starts but he has gone backwards following a promising effort on his seasonal reappearance at Newmarket. Return to faster ground could suit though and he's becoming well-handicapped.

Prolific as a juvenile, winning four times and while she's only won once so far this year, she's put up several big efforts in defeat including when fourth of 19 here last time (Roulston Scar second). Step back up in trip sure to suit.

Got his head back in front at Newmarket in June but wasn't in the same form at Haydock with more cut in the ground next time out. A quicker surface should suit and his useful apprentice jockey takes 5lb off his back.

Sole win came in a novice event on AW but he's been a beaten favourite on three of his next four starts, though has run well in defeat. First-time cheekpieces may help eke out some improvement.

Look Out Louis10
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-8| J: Cam Hardie| T: T D Easterby| OR:  80| D

Gained back-to-back wins in handicaps back in May but he's put in some abject performances of late, barely beating a rival home in any of his last four races. Back on his last winning mark but others preferred.

Won two of his first three starts including a C&D success but has largely struggled this season. Signs of a revival last time out when not beaten far to finish fifth at Musselburgh and on a nice handicap mark; back up in trip.

Won a race at Beverley as a juvenile before a big run in Doncaster's valuable sales race. Beaten a long way at Pontefract last time on his first start since wind surgery but could well come on for that run.

Forecasts

Roulston Scar (5/2), Pendleton (4/1), Princess Power (9/2), The Night Watch (7/1), Jonah Jones (8/1), Kinks (10/1), Yousini (11/1), Lihou (12/1), Wasntexpectingthat (20/1), Nicki's Angel (20/1), He'zanarab (25/1), Look Out Louis (33/1)

Verdict

ROULSTON SCAR and Princess Power are closely matched on their placed form here at the Ebor meeting and the former is narrowly preferred with the yard flying at present. Kevin Ryan's yard also saddle Yousini who should appreciate a quicker surface while He'zanarab is respected if he can build on a promising run at Musselburgh last time out.
  1. Roulston Scar
  2. Yousini
  3. Princess Power
