Useful Flat performer; taken well to hurdles over the summer winning three hurdles in succession and remaining unbeaten in this sphere. Made light of a double penalty last time (jumped well); looks to have another straightforward task here.
Took a couple of starts to hit winning form for this yard over hurdles but has now won three in a row. Completed her hat-trick on handicap debut last time at Bangor (won there the time before); often makes the running; should be respected.
Fair on the Flat when running in Germany (won three times at up to 1m2f); refused to enter the stalls twice in GB. Attentions now switched hurdles; demeanour so far suggests there are some underlying quirks; watching brief advised.
Failed to show much on his Ludlow bumper debut (looked inexperienced); weak in the market. Didn't offer that much sent hurdling at Ffos Las in April (fell last), now returns from a break in the hope of a better experience; uphill task.
Stayed 1m4f on the Flat, fairly useful in that sphere despite only winning once. Well below any of his Flat form in three hurdles attempts since moving to this yard; hard to give him anything more than a limited chance.
50-1 on his hurdling debut at Worcester last month over 2m4f he drops back 4f for his second effort in this discipline having belied those initial outing odds. Kept on well to finish third first-time out; open to more improvement.
Should really have done better over hurdles on the basis of his Irish Flat form (fair with Jim Bolger). Showed very little in three hurdles outings for Paul Nicholls, much the same story for this yard on debut at Newton Abbot; limited appeal.
Maiden on the Flat (was with John Gosden), fairly useful form despite not winning. Cost £26,000 in May, makes his debut here over hurdles, should have a future in this discipline but cannons into a couple of useful sorts first time up.
Maiden and Group 2 winner for Aidan O'Brien as a 2yo but not seen since finishing last in a Curragh Group 1 in 2015. Unusual to see one of this calibre now over hurdles but given the absence he can only be watched at this juncture.
Forecasts
Pacify (4/9), See The Sea (9/4), Happy B (7/1), Momtalik (14/1), Painted Cliffs (25/1), Amangiri (28/1), Court Dancer (33/1), Meagher's Flag (40/1), Epsom Day (150/1)
So far PACIFY hasn’t put a foot wrong over hurdles jumping and travelling well despite his last two starts under penalties being relatively easy affairs. This event also lacks depth and he should be hard to beat again before he’s aimed at better events in the autumn against some more exacting rivals. See The Sea has done well over hurdles considering her modest Flat form demonstrating far more ability in this sphere but it will be a surprise if she can extend her winning run here. The minor honours look the best the remainder can hope for with Momtalik and Happy B looking to be the two main candidates to chase home the big two players in this field.
- Pacify
- See The Sea
- Momtalik
