Knows his way around here blindfold, likes to front run and to that extent, has a good draw to work from. Getting a bit of help off the handicapper too, but it's a long time since he won one, which has to be a concern.
On a fair mark at present but recent form isn't anything to shout about, and the new combination of headgear (retained here) produced no better at Newbury last time. Risky at present and others readily preferred.
Veteran that tends to reserve his best for his beloved Southwell, where he's a five time winner. Better at Beverley last time and gave the impression this trip was worth a try, but may be best to wait until he's back on Fibresand before going in.
Only had the three starts this season but has run with great promise every time, and looks ready for this extra furlong now. Should handle this surface fine, yard among the winners lately and she looks one to be interested in here.
Thrown in on the best of his form but it's a long time since he showed any of that, and he really ought to have done better on his last couple of starts under conditions that would have suited. Not hard to look elsewhere for the winner.
Improving 3yo that came good at Newbury last month (10f) and lost nothing in defeat back at that venue last time either. No reason why he won't get this trip and has some experience of the sand, so no reason not to go well.
Lightly raced 3yo that's only been out of the frame on one occasion, and did win a little race at Hamilton along the way (easy task) but connections seem unsure as to best trip at the moment. May improve again but not without some risk.
Learning quickly now and ran out a ready winner at Lingfield (10f) last time out, in no danger of defeat from some way out. That form has been franked since and with the promise of more to come, looks one of the main players here.
Winner on soft ground at Haydock back in April, mainly credible efforts since then but it does look as if the handicapper has his measure at the moment. Possibly unlucky latest but now needs to get back on track, and others make more appeal.
Didn't need to improve to take a little novice race here last time out but that did at least prove she acts on the surface and stays well. Drop back a furlong won't be a problem and if she runs her race, has place chances at worst.
Has come back from an absence this season but has yet to show any real form and is better at longer trips than this anyway. Plenty to find here and others readily preferred.
Forecasts
Pour Me A Drink (11/4), Sendeed (10/3), Inclyne (6/1), Ritchie Valens (6/1), Junderstand (7/1), Noble Gift (8/1), Sandyman (20/1), Wimpole Hall (25/1), C Note (25/1), Showboating (50/1), Noble Behest (66/1)
JUNDERSTAND gets the vote here. She comes into this in good form, handles the surface, will get the trip and the yard are having winners for fun at the moment. Plenty to recommend her chance. Sandyman has to be considered as an improving 3yo and looks a danger, as does Inclyne, a winner here last time out and has less to prove than a few of these.
- Junderstand
- Sandyman
- Inclyne
