Went on a winning spree (typical of one from this yard when given a trip) which saw him win four in a row before being defeated (but running with credit) in the Melrose at York. Has to confirm form with Petrastar (big weight pull); still on the up.

Course winner (1m4f) on his final start for William Haggas; yet to win for this yard. Fairly useful sort but had little chance in heady handicap company last time (well out the weights); certainly has a win in him but would prefer an easier grade.

This looks to revolve around a repeat of the C&D battle in early August where despite having the run of the race Petrastar gave best to LAND OF OZ who was completing a hat-trick and went on to land a fourth handicap success. Only third in the Melrose last time that was still a further improvement and he’ll be hard to beat despite Clive Cox’s charge having a 15lb pull in the weights for just less than a 4L beating. Cristal Spirit and Alfredo would appear to be contesting the minor placing with the former having the edge, the latter looking off the pace at the moment.
