€75,000 yearling. Half-sister to four winners including Grecian Light (Group-placed 7f 2yo); trainer has healthy strike-rate with 2yos here, and his runners are in good form. Market check suggested.
Half-sister to four winners including Deia Glory (5f 2yo) and Lapilli (5f-6f). Nice enough pedigree, but trainer's debutantes usually improve for their first effort.
200,000gns yearling. Dam 6f and 7f (Listed) winner from good family. Represents top Newmarket stable and should be capable of a good debut.
Big prices and well beaten in all three starts, Others preferred.
Went close at Pontefract (6f, good to soft) on debut in June and respectable effort at Hamilton when fourth (5f, good to firm) shortly after. Should not be ruled out.
Held at Yarmouth on debut when sixth of nine a couple of weeks ago. Should be able to improve on that this time, as she was slow to get going there. In good hands and could emerge as a contender.
170,000gns yearling. Half-sister to three winners including Tourny (5f/6f 2yo, inc. Group 3) and Make It Reel (5f 2yo). Represents last year's winning trainer and would be very interesting if supported.
25-1 on debut at Thirsk (6f, soft) and ran better than her SP suggested she might. Should come on a fair bit for that, and no surprise to see her involved.
Showed promise when third of 13, beaten around 4L on debut at Windsor (6f, good) on her debut last month. Should be better for that experience, and can't be written off.
From a family that includes several winners but no surprise if she finds this a bit tough on debut.
Improving with each run and went close at Goodwood (6f) last time. Yet to race on soft ground. Should be thereabouts, but possibly vulnerable to one less exposed.
Half-brother to six winners, the best of whom was US scorer K P Pergoliscious. Represents a top team and should be checked in the market.
Forecasts
Pretty In Grey (9/2), Esprit Rose (5/1), Hidden Spell (5/1), Jaaneh (11/2), Poet's Lady (6/1), Strawberry Hind (7/1), Brookside Banner (8/1), Magical Moment (12/1), Whatabird (16/1), Colouring (33/1), Pushover (66/1), Hands Down (100/1)
An open contest on paper. Newcomers Brookside Banner, Whatabird and Esprit Rose are all of interest, as is another one in MAGICAL MOMENT, who represents last year's winning trainer and gets a tentative vote. Strawberry Hind, Hidden Spell and Jaaneh have some experience and should also be in the mix.
