Bumped into St Leger fav when fifth of 19 on debut (1m2f Newbury) and improved at same course latest when second of five behind an 84-rated performer upped to 1m4f. Form as good as any and looks top yard's first string.

Beaten 33L and 30L in maidens over 1m and 1m4f and with that in mind makes no appeal here but can be watched ahead of low-grade handicaps subsequently.

Keen and finished tired on debut here over 1m4f in June and is one very much on the best watched list after that start. Also declared at Hamilton on Wednesday.

Finished third in three 1m4f maidens at Ascot and here twice on good to soft and heavy ground. Dettori prefers Arabist which is significant but be a surprise if this gelding doesn't at least make the frame.

65,000gns yearling son of Australia is a half-brother to 6f AW winner Charleston Belle out of a 6f winner (inc Listed). Market can guide but given belated debut on balance he is probably best watched.

155,000gns daughter of Lope De Vega yet to live up to that billing in 1m maidens here (sixth of 10) and at Thirsk (last of five). Mixed messages pedigree-wise for this longer trip but not seen enough to take a chance on her.

Noble Music23
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: R Kingscote| T: R M Beckett| BF
7/2
Third to high-class pair Bangkok and Telecaster on debut (beaten 10L) before second of seven when 10/11F at Carlisle latest over 1m1f on heavy ground. Longer trip should hold no fears and looks the danger to the Gosden duo.

Forecasts

Arabist (8/15), Noble Music (7/2), Swift Wing (4/1), Sydney Express (25/1), Casting Spells (33/1), Gabriel Oak (66/1), Detonation (150/1)

Verdict

John Gosden has two of the obvious three candidates here and although there is little between the pair on form the booking of Frankie Dettori on ARABIST would strongly indicate that this filly is the first choice of the yard and rarely do Clarehaven get the pecking order wrong. With that in mind perhaps Noble Music can cause the selection a greater threat than Swift Wing and it would be very surprising if the aforementioned trio don't finish 1-2-3 in some order.
  1. Arabist
  2. Noble Music
  3. Swift Wing
