Horse A-Z
First foal; dam unraced sister to useful hurdle winner Captain Kirkton, half-sister to some useful hurdle and chase winners. Hard to assess on debut and the market should provide pointers.
2
Horse silk
7/1
Showed improved form on only hurdles outing when finishing 3rd of 14 at Ballinrobe in May; had previously shown little abilty in point-topoints and bumpers; as good a chance as any at this level.
3
Horse silk
33/1
Closely related to some useful Flat and National Hunt performers; only the market will provide clues about his chances.
Related to some minor bumper and hurdles winners but nothing stands out on breeding and unless the money is down he looks an unlikely type on his debut.
5
Horse silk
5/1
Disappointed on his debut at Roscommon in June but put up a much better effort next time out at Killarney; front runner who should improve again and one of the more likely candidates.
6
Horse silk
20/1
Made an encouraging debut at the Galway festival when fifth of 13 beaten 12L in a bumper but ran below this effort next time out at Tramore; has ability but might find a couple too good.
7
Horse silk
Scalorh,t14
9/2
Failed to build on a promising start to his career at Punchestown but came back to some sort of form last time out at KIllarney; experience should hold him in good stead and certainly capable of a place.
8
Horse silk
100/1
Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Killbegan on debut in June and finished last of 11 in a bumper and then 11th of 12 last time. Others make more appeal.
Plenty to like about her improved effort at Limerick in July finishing second of 16 over 2m on final start for trainer Paul Power but very disappointing last time out at Kilbeggan in August. Could bounce back and has chances.
Daughter of Lilbourne Lad out of a Bluebird mare. Closely related to dual hurdle winner at 2m The Plan Man. Pulled on only bumper start which does not bode well for her chances.
Filly by Arcadio out of a Flemensfirth mare.; excellent effort on only racecourse appearance at Tramore with that form setting the standard. May prove very hard to beat.
12
Horse silk
33/1
Disappointed on both her start to date and hard to see where the improvement will come from to see her take a hand here.

Forecasts

Lady Moon (6/5), Scalor (9/2), Jazz Toes (5/1), Chief Of Police (7/1), As High Say (14/1), Mezyan (20/1), Dads Lad (25/1), Big Boy Bloater (25/1), Visionaire (33/1), Mister Mogul (33/1), Ya Know (100/1), Hit The Hay (100/1)

Verdict

LADY MOON put in a fine effort on her debut beaten by a more experienced rival but keeping up to her task well. The form of that race is head and shoulders above anything else with racecourse experience; she may win but her starting price will be prohibitive. If Mezyan can return to the form he showed at the Galway festival then he may be the one chasing the selection home but needs to bounce back from a poor run last time out while Chief Of Police has enough experience now to suggest he is capable of running in to a place at the very least.
  1. Lady Moon
  2. Mezyan
  3. Chief Of Police
