Both wins have come at 6f including at this track where made all. Has bags of early pace so drop back could suit and arrives here in good form having failed by just a head at Wolverhampton last time.
Broke maiden at Maisons-Laffite in June, ran poorly in first handicap at Sandown soon after, but better last time at Ripon where only faded close home. Down 2lb and is not out of this by any means.
Won 5f Nottingham maiden for William Haggas last season and has gone close a few times for current yard this campaign without getting his head in front. On balance others appear to have slightly stronger claims.
Landed York 5.5f novice event last season but has disappointed all four starts this term, the last two since being gelded. Reared at start latest so has some excuse but doesn't jump out as a likely winner.
Twice gone close this summer without getting the verdict. LIkes to blaze a trail and could have company up front here. Interesting to see how he fares and might set it up for a finisher to swoop.
Impressive 3-6 in 5f handicaps this term but last win came off 8lb lower mark. Well beaten off 1lb higher than this last time at Catterick and handicapper may now have his measure.
Driven out to land Ripon 5f handicap this June and was fair third there last time. Should be thereabouts but no surprise to see her find a few too good on this occasion.
Often slow to go from the stalls which might make life tough around this very sharp track. Close third when beaten favourite at Doncaster last time but race could be set up for her with so many front-runners if she jumps off on terms.
Forecasts
Fairy Stories (3/1), Vee Man Ten (7/2), Wild Edric (4/1), Exalted Angel (6/1), Ginvincible (7/1), The Defiant (8/1), Three Card Trick (12/1), True Hero (14/1)
Wild Edric and FAIRY STORIES are at either end of the weights and have opposite running styles but both have claims. Wild Edric should blaze away but might have company for the early lead. Nonetheless he could take some catching and may well go very close, but marginal preference is for the filly who, if able to get out more or less on terms, could be finishing well to land the spoils. Exalted Angel and Vee Man Tee are others with claims, along with Ginvincible who spoiled her chance last time with a tardy start.
- Fairy Stories
- Wild Edric
- Ginvincible
